Done Christmas shopping

So with Steve's gift ordered yesterday, I'm officially done with the annual event known as Christmas shopping. I now just have to wrap some things for office people and so forth.

Steve has the gun range tonight. I don't have anything on TV.

Last night was doing some journaling -- haven't really done that for a while -- and I was trying to figure out why I couldn't get a handle on the middle of my book. Then I thought of something.

I flipped the inciting incident - who wins the election on the planet -- and now it makes more sense in terms of storyline for this book and for any others.

Phew. That was torturing me for many weeks.

Ryker kept me up last night a lot -- just wanting attention, nothing major. So I'm tired. I'm going to try to do some catching up tonight.

Well damn.

Well, Christmas sort of became real today.

Steve's present fell through. I was counting on my agent doing a Christmas miracle and didn't work. Just not happening at all.

So I had to punt. Big time. Things ordered have a very short time to deliver now.

But perhaps the miracle is I've come up with another idea. I don't know if he'll like it. It's a completely out of the box kind of gift.  It's pretty major but returnable but still....

I also asked Steve what he wanted for Christmas dinner. Another turkey? Something else?

Helpful.....

So I made a command decision and ordered beef wellington from online.

 
Always wanted to try them --  not making them myself of course. That would be a disaster.

Tonight on TV we may watch Curse of Oak Island, "Precious Metal". Or we may watch an episode of Jack Ryan.

Ah no! Monday again!

The weekend was all right.

I was kind of looking for things to give suggestions to Steve about what to get me for Christmas. I always say a gift card from Amazon would make me immensely happy.

But like last year, I received jewelry. I don't have much opportunity to wear jewelry though I know he means very well by it.

And for some reason I came across on Ebay a collection of Dana Girls books. So I bought it.

Dana Girls were by the same syndicate that did Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. Not as popular but I liked them.

While I was at it, I saw a collection of Trixie Belden books, which I have, but mine are falling apart from being read so much. So I replaced the first sixteen ....

I went ahead and got myself these things because

1) they'd be gone by the time Steve got around to it
2) it would be difficult to describe these to Steve so he'd get the right ones, and
3) Steve would think they're stupid and wouldn't get them for me.

And trust me, I could have gone bonkers getting a whole lot of other collections if I let myself. All the Cherry Ames, all of Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys, all of Rosamund du Jardin, etc.

Not much on TV if I recall. Arrow is in Christmas rerun mode. We'll probably wind up watching football.

Just gonna relax here for a couple days

Otherwise known as the weekend.

No real plans for me other than a haircut and getting some groceries tomorrow morning. Some cleaning.

On Sunday, Outlander "Down the Rabbit Hole":

I got Steve to watch the first episode of Jack Ryan last night so we'll catch a couple more eps over the weekend.  There's a total of 8.

So much truth

The week is going by ... slowly.

Nothing on TV for me. Maybe we'll watch football. Maybe I'll try to get Steve interested in the Amazon Jack Ryan series. Maybe he'll go play computer and I'll read.

Not much going on.

Nothing on TV tonight unless I watch a Wednesday night version of Live PD. Steve has the gun range. And I'm about to finish Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime.

 So I will probably read.

I am starting to get a thread on the missing middle of my book so maybe I could do something there. 

So just another evening.
