Monday, period.

Aaaaannnnnd here we are again!

Tonight on TV I have Scorpion, "Wave Goodbye":

Team Scorpion must prevent an incoming tsunami from hitting a vulnerable nuclear power facility, and Toby secretly helps his ex-fiancée retrieve her stolen identity.

Which I will have to watch tomorrow or so.

I had a chance to do some reading yesterday so I'm a little over halfway through the McIntosh book. Tomorrow, however, I have two new releases:

I also got caught up on This Is Us. Oh, the episode after the Super Bowl is going to be heartbreaking.

We see how Jack died. It will be in a fire probably saving the family dog. Fire is my worst of the worst. So super bad. But Jack is a wonderful character we knew was going to die from last season.

There will be much sobbing but there will be answers at last.

Tonight, there will be dinner, Street Outlaws, a little reading, and sleep.

Have a good day

My work is done ...

It's the end of the week at last!

Tonight I have Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. !!

"Best Laid Plans":

Mack, Yo-Yo and Flint fight to keep everyone alive by starting a revolution against the Kree.

Last night on Arrow, Felicity had a wonderful speech:

"But this is what he does best. No one does it better. What your dad does is very dangerous and the heros don’t always make it home - I never forget that, but you know, I have loved your dad since the first time he brought me a bullet-ridden computer which means I’ve loved him for a long time - remind me to tell you about that sometime - but it means I’ve worried about him for a long time…he’s not perfect, but he makes his sacrifices so we have to make ours…we can’t take things for granted we have to live with the uncertainty, but that’s the price we pay for loving the people we love … everything he does he does for a good reason or what he thinks is a good reason so you can worry about your dad, but you have to believe he is going to be okay. Okay? Now, watch…after he takes these two down he ‘s going to spin, kick…use the arrow…oh, you probably shouldn’t have been allowed to watch that, that’s parenting 101.
—  Felicity to William
And why they're one of my favorite couples and why it was worth 6 years to get to this point.

This weekend I have cleaning to do, of course. On Sunday, music rehearsal (my reward).

Have a good weekend!

Are we there yet?

It's a long week. I'm ready for it to be done.

I'm ready to just sleep and sleep.

But it is not to be. I have to keep cleaning in anticipation of flooring people coming to measure the bathroom on Saturday followed by the renovation.

But then I have Arrow tonight! "We Fall":

Cayden James ups the ante by launching his plan to take control of every aspect of the city. Despite the scope of Cayden’s plan, Oliver (Stephen Amell) is determined to foil it with just the Original Team Arrow – and without the aid of Rene (Rick Gonzalez), Dinah (Juliana Harkavy), or Curtis (Echo Kellum). But things get complicated when William (guest star Jack Moore) is endangered as a result of Cayden’s handiwork. Are you there?

Nothing on TV tonight which is good. The renovation of our kitchen and upstairs bathroom is looming. I. Must. Clean. Years. of. Accumulation. Starting tonight.

I'm liking the colors of this one (our bathroom is much much smaller):

And I'm liking this design for the kitchen (also a small space so the lightness will open things up):

The bathroom will be done first.

I'll need to take a 5 Hour Energy to stay awake long enough to actually accomplish something. The weekends just aren't enough time to do all that needs to be done to prep this.

I do have a few episodes to watch from last night's shows of This Is Us, Hunting Hitler, and Chicago Med. But I also discovered full episodes for free on YouTube of The Hardy Boys. In the late 70s, when I was in grade school, I loved that show.

Good Lord, I still get turned on by that feathered 70s hair. I may have mentioned that before.

Steve has shooting. I have cleaning. The boys will hang out. Then lovely bedtime.

Have a good day

Monday is being a Monday

I woke at 2 this morning with a stabbing headache. Wasn't able to walk the dogs. I got to work at 10. Not fun.

Currently reading ST. MUNGO'S ROBIN by Pat McIntosh. 4th of 10 in series featuring Gil Cunningham, a notary in 15th century Glasgow.

The warden of St Serf's has been found dead in the almshouse garden. He appears to have been killed on the previous night but there are those who are convinced he was present at that morning's service, The elderly residents, the almshouse nurse and Humphrey, her deranged favourite, have all been set against one another by the dead man's scheming - and then there is the discarded mistress and almshouse ghost to consider. Tracing the dead man's last movements between the Cathedral precinct and the shores of the Clyde, Gil Cunningham is both helped and hindered by his two sisters who have come to Glasgow for his wedding to Alys. An uncanny event followed by the arrival of Gil's godfather, precipitates the crisis.
 Published 2007; 288 pages.

Tonight is an episode of Scorpion, "Lighthouse of the Rising Sun":

A solar storm knocks out power in Los Angeles, and Team Scorpion must help a teen pilot and his girlfriend who are lost over the Pacific without navigation or radio contact. Also, during the crisis, Walter must look after a group of Ralph’s classmates, and Cabe tries to tell Allie finally that he loves her.
Which I will view tomorrow. Or so.

I felt better by this afternoon but I imagine I'll be going to bed rather early-ish.

Have a good rest of your day!

I am zen

Friday!

It's been a long week, doing two jobs, etc. I'm tired and really really wanted to go back to bed after walking the boys this morning.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on tonight!

"The Last Day":

Coulson and the team discover that the most unexpected person from S.H.I.E.L.D.'s past may hold the key to stopping Earth's destruction.

Mostly going to relax and recover from the week over the next couple days of this weekend. I do have to get groceries tomorrow. I'm hoping to go to music rehearsal on Sunday afternoon.

Have a good weekend!

Much love,
PK the Bookeemonster

How to get through the rest of the week? Very carefully.

Arrow is finally back from Christmas hiatus!!

Tonight on Arrow "Divided":

Despite losing half his team, Oliver remains confident that he, Felicity and Diggle can stop Cayden James and Black Siren. However, when he discovers one of Cayden’s secrets, he decides to team up with an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Dinah spends time with Vince.
Don't know what I'm making for dinner. Sleep is my number one priorty after the show.

Because I fell well short of my reading goal of 100 books in 2017, my reading goal for this year is to average about 5 reads per month, or 60 books in the year. Life has become complicated so I figure that's a reasonable goal. I'm having a good month -- I've already hit my 5 books read. Woot! There will be bad months, I know.

 Have a great day!

Much love,

Me today

Only Wednesday. Yikes.

I have been extraordinarily tired today. I better not be getting sick.

Tonight, nothing on TV so I'll feed the boys, read and go to bed. Quickly.  Do not pass go; do not collect $200.

Have a lovely rest of your day.

Much love,

I'm fine, why do you ask?

Tonight on TV (which I won't watch very much of in first run), I have Curse of Oak Island "The Signs of a Cross":

The team unearths a ship's log detailing the burial of treasure on an island similar to Oak Island. Later, Rick and Gary make what may prove to be the biggest find on Oak Island...

And Hunting Hitler "Nuclear Nazi Weapons":

A hydroelectric plant in Norway where the Nazis were close to producing a nuclear weapon is explored by Tim and Gerrard. Mike and James investigate a cabin high in the Austrian Alps where Hitler's associate made a sacrifice.

And This Is Us "Clooney":

Kate goes wedding dress shopping. Kevin embraces a new lifestyle while Randall explores William's past. Jack and Rebecca take the kids to the mall.

And Chicago Med "Over Troubled Water":

Dr. Charles is faced with a tough decision when a patient gives birth to a baby that is addicted to heroin — Dr. Charles feels pressure when Dr. Choi and Dr. Manning criticize his medical decision regarding an ill newborn baby. Dr. Rhodes comes to terms with his relationship issues. Goodwin helps Bert understand Lyla’s sickness.

But sleep comes first.

I started reading DREAMS OF THE GOLDEN AGE by Carrie Vaughn. 2nd of 2 in SFF series.

Like every teen, Anna has secrets. Unlike every teen, Anna has a telepath for a father and Commerce City's most powerful businessperson for a mother. She's also the granddaughter of the city's two most famous superheroes, the former leaders of the legendary Olympiad, and the company car drops her off at the gate of her exclusive high school every morning. Privacy is one luxury she doesn't have. Hiding her burgeoning superpowers from her parents is hard enough; how's she supposed to keep them from finding out that her friends have powers, too? Or that she and the others are meeting late at night, honing their skills and dreaming of becoming Commerce City's next great team of masked vigilantes? Like every mother, Celia worries about her daughter. Unlike every mother, Celia has the means to send Anna to the best schools and keep a close watch on her, every second of every day. At least Celia doesn't have to worry about Anna becoming a target for every gang with masks and an agenda, like Celia was at Anna's age. As far as Celia knows, Anna isn't anything other than a normal teen. Still, just in case, Celia has secretly awarded scholarships at Anna's private high school to the descendants of the city's other superpowered humans. Maybe, just maybe, these teens could one day fill the gap left by the dissolution of The Olympiad...

Published 2014, 320 pages.

Have a good day
