So THERE bad week

TGIF!

But we made it through all five days.  And we get to do it all over again next week.

Nothing. I'm just going to enjoy the weekend.

No real plans this weekend. No going to do a thing.

I have to get groceries but otherwise I'm going to be sticking close to home. This close to July 4th, fireworks are being set off in my neighborhood. Ryker is afraid of them so keeping him calm for the next few days will be a priority.

Have a good weekend

It will be a long week ....

And it's only Tuesday.

Currently reading THE ROUBAUD CONNECTION. 12th of 12 in series featuring Dr. Genevieve Lenard, nonverbal communications expert and on the autism spectrum, and her team in France.

A young acquaintance Doctor Genevieve Lenard begs her to look into the disappearance of his friend. When the friend's tortured body is found in a forest outside Strasbourg, the case leads Genevieve and her team to the body of a second victim with many unusual secrets--a forged masterpiece the least surprising of them all; an ancient treasure shrouded in mystery the most intriguing. While Genevieve is frantically searching for a motivation behind the murders, more tortured bodies are dumped in the forests surrounding the city--all connected to her young acquaintance. And the moment she discovers that the evidence points to a rogue state, her young acquaintance also disappears. Without knowing who the killer is and why he's torturing his victims, there will be no stopping him. Or saving her friend from vicious suffering and eventual death.

 Published 2018; 342 pages

Also currently reading IT TAKES TWO by Jenny Holiday. 2nd of 2 in Brides Behaving Badly romantic series.

Luckily she's had time to perfect her poker face, and engaging Noah Denning in a little friendly competition might just prove that she's over him for good... Noah Denning is determined to make his little sister's wedding memorable. But it seems Wendy is trying to outdo him at every turn. Challenging each other was always something he and Wendy did right, so when she proposes they compete to see who can throw the best bachelor or bachelorette party in Sin City, Noah takes the bait - and ups the stakes. Because this time around, he wants Wendy for keeps. And when you're fighting for love, all bets are off.

Just make it all go away

Having a Monday, no question. Previous Service Manager's last day was Friday. Of course, finding out today what she wasn't doing, like returning calls. New Service Manager started today which is all good but I'm having to train a job I don't do or know really. And it's a crazy Monday.

And on Friday at end of day one of our installers decided to quit with no notice. Yeah.

So I'm ready to go home.

Tonight we have Street Outlaws to watch. Otherwise, reading and going to bed.

Have a good day

Put your feet up like you just don't care

TGIF. OMG.

I just started reading A SECOND CHANCE by Jodi Taylor. 3rd of 9 in The Chronicles of St. Mary's series.

Behind the seemingly innocuous facade of St. Mary’s Institute of Historical Research, a different kind of academic work is taking place. Just don’t call it “time travel”—these historians “investigate major historical events in contemporary time. The action jumps from an encounter with a mirror-stealing Isaac Newton to the bloody battlefield at Agincourt. Discover how a simple fact-finding assignment to witness the ancient and murderous cheese- rolling ceremony in Gloucester can result in CBC - concussion by cheese. The long awaited jump to Bronze Age Troy ends in personal catastrophe for Max and just when it seems things couldn't get any worse - it's back to the Cretaceous Period again to confront an old enemy who has nothing to lose. So, make the tea, grab the chocolate biscuits, settle back and discover exactly why the entire history department has painted itself blue ...

Published 2016; 348 pages.

I also have a lot of research to do for the book. It is set in the future, science fiction but it is also an analogy of historical events.

Tomorrow evening I have music night.

Tonight we'll watch Live PD. Maybe I'll catch the Cormoran Strike series on Cinemax, technically they're calling it episode 4. It's the first of the second book, THE SILKWORM by Robert Galbraith, a.k.a. JK Rowling of Harry Potter fame.

When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days-as he has done before-and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, it becomes clear that there is more to Quine's disappearance than his wife realizes. The novelist has just completed a manuscript. If the novel were to be published, it would ruin lives-meaning that there are a lot of people who might want him silenced.
Otherwise, the usual napping, cleaning, reading, Internet-ing, etc. SO glad this week is over.

Have a good weekend

Much love,

Today's not SO bad ....

Today has actually gone a bit quickly. I'm perfectly ok with that. And that there's only one day left in the week.

Currently reading Resurrection by Karina Bliss. 4th of 4 in Rock Solid Romance series.

No more rock stars. Not ever.
Lily Hagen Stuart has done that scene to death. Her new career in early childhood education is way more rewarding and she deals with far fewer tantrums. Then a stolen sex tape is posted online and her future is in jeopardy. She needs to get away from the paparazzi and the only place that offers refuge is the world she swore never to return to: the music world. Fine. A few weeks—tops. That’s all she needs to get her life back. And keeping her hands off gorgeous Moss McFadden? Should be easy.

A loner doesn't need anyone.
Moss McFadden may be a rising rock star, but he’s quite happy to keep everyone at arm’s length. Until Lily needs help, that is. They strike a deal that puts them in closer proximity than is good for his equilibrium. Still, he can keep his fascination with her in check. Or can he? Because when she lends him a hand in a life-changing situation, all his defenses are shot. And as he goes down in a wave of longing, he wonders if she just might be his salvation.
Published 2018; 281 pages. I will probably finish it tonight.

I've also been viewing Criminal Minds, the first season. There are apparently 14 seasons or they're about to start they're 14th season.

The cases of the F.B.I. Behavioral Analysis Unit (B.A.U.), an elite group of profilers who analyze the nation's most dangerous serial killers and individual heinous crimes in an effort to anticipate their next moves before they strike again.

The job Steve was going to be working on last night got pushed to tonight. So I don't know if I'm going to have deal with dinner or not. Either way, I'll be hanging with the boys, reading, writing, computering.

Have a good day

Much love,

Just let it all out

The frustration with workplace people continues. Sigh. Just a couple more days.

Just a long weekend would be helpful.

Nothing on TV tonight. I'll do research for my book. Steve has the gun range but he may be skipping that to go help out on a big commercial door install that could only be done starting at 9pm.

All fun and games, I tell ya.

Have a good day

Much love,

I thought it was Wednesday for a moment

But it's only Tuesday. Sigh.

Nothing on TV for me tonight. I will probably read and/or research. I seem to have gotten a second wind on the SFF story I was working on a little while ago.

Yeah, well, let's just say I've found new incentive.

Have a good day

I don't get people

Why does have it have to be so hard? The new Service Manager who was supposed to start today ... no call no show. Phone number goes straight to voice mail. Right. Thanks.

Just call or leave a voice mail saying you changed your mind, dude. Let us know so we can start looking again.

And it's only Monday. Oh boy.

So tonight, we'll watch Street Outlaws during dinner, I'll then sit at the kitchen table listening to music with a glass of wine maybe and write.

I finished the Bujold book. It was lovely. I need to finish the Frasier book before I add anything else.

Have a great day

Much love,
PK the Bookeemonster
