Weekend personified

TGIF

A reading choice has been made!

Currently reading MUTINEER by J. A. Sutherland. 2nd of 6 in series featuring Alexis Carew, SFF.

Just as Midshipman Alexis Carew thinks she’s found a place in the Royal Navy, she’s transferred aboard H.M.S. Hermione. Her captain is a Tartar, free with the cat o' nine tails and who thinks girls have no place aboard ship. The other midshipmen in the berth are no better. The only advice she’s offered is to keep her head down and mouth shut – things Alexis is rarely able to do.

 Published 2015; 324 pages.

I've got the beading group tomorrow at the coffee shop. If I want to do the found objects challenge, this is the last weekend to do so. Do I really want to do it? Not really. But I have the beads planned.

I really also need to work on the October bullet journal because October is TOMORROW.

And get going on the reading journals. And nap. And clean. And read. And maybe binge watch some things. And basically just recover from a crazy crazy but busy busy week.

Have a good weekend

I will rise above the chaos

Thursday. And let me tell you, today was total chaos.

I haven't chosen a book to read next yet.

I'm leaning toward a SciFi because in the recent reads I've read a PI crime fiction (Galbraith), a futuristic cop procedural (Robb), a historical mystery (Thomas), a contemporary young adult-ish mystery (Jackson), and currently listening to a fantasy novel (Whitten).  Not that any of these were really planned. So ... sci fi.

Or I guess maybe a romance. We'll see.

The next couple days are supposed to be cooler. Yay!

Have a good day

True statement

 Wednesday

It's a good kind of insane -- insanely busy and I can't catch up but it will get better eventually.

Steve's got the gun range tonight, good thing. I will do something. I don't know yet.  I mean, I need to do my writing pages, prep for meal tomorrow. But I really want to just read or stare at something to binge.

I know I know

Have a good day

Happy 25th Anniversary

Tuesday. Steve and my 25th wedding anniversary.

No special plans. I'll fix him some dinner this evening -- I'm still on my food plan so I won't be eating with him. I'm thinking cube steak and potatoes or maybe onion rings. I'm looking at marinades or good ways to cook it.

I got him a card, a bag of Rolos, and some Dot's pretzels. No cake or dessert things.

That's about it. Otherwise usual stuff tonight. Bujo, reading, bed.

 Have a good day

Much love,

Monday face

Monday

Currently reading A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER by Holly Jackson. 1st of 3 in series.

Everyone in Fairview knows the story. Pretty and popular high school senior Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself. It was all anyone could talk about. And five years later, Pip sees how the tragedy still haunts her town. But she can't shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day. She knew Sal when she was a child, and he was always so kind to her. How could he possibly have been a killer? Now a senior herself, Pip decides to reexamine the closed case for her final project, at first just to cast doubt on the original investigation. But soon she discovers a trail of dark secrets that might actually prove Sal innocent . . . and the line between past and present begins to blur. Someone in Fairview doesn't want Pip digging around for answers, and now her own life might be in danger.

Published 2020; 389 pages.

It was a nice weekend. Worked a lot on my bullet journal at the coffee shop. Worked very little on the found objects.

I've got a week left to do something so either I do it .... or I don't. I know I won't be doing it next month. Too much stuff.

 Have a good day

Unexpected happiness

 TGIF

And the good news is:

We've hired a new Service Manager and she's WONDERFUL!!

Through an employment service and we were looking for a salesperson but Donarae was offered and she's a better fit for the Service Manager. What a relief!

This weekend, tomorrow, I have a haircut in the morning and bead group in the afternoon. I'd like to skip bead group but we had cancelled last week and I do need to work on my found objects projects.

I'm going to make my Thai Beef that is so nummy. Maybe even both days. Just gonna do the same weekend stuff. You know, the usual.

 Have a good weekend

Not coming out until Mercury retrograde is over

Wednesday.

Steve has the gun range tonight. When he gets home he can have leftover things. I didn't have soup for today's meal because I was rather hungry yesterday evening. I had a salad today to boost the nutrition. Tomorrow I'll have some of the soup but I'll include some almonds or cashews and more noodles versus broth in order to get enough to get me through the day.

There wasn't bead group today because most of the four to five people who do Wednesdays had other things going on. Jim has been out of town, Patt said she was at a doctor's appointment with her husband, and I think Ann has wedding things for her granddaughter (?) or daughter (?) this weekend so she's got stuff going on all week. I went to the grocery store to pick up some spices I was getting low on, stock up on lime juice, and splurged on flank steak again so I can have my Thai Beef Salad this weekend.

Really, all I feel like doing tonight is reading. I did get a second wind yesterday night and then I woke at 3am-ish and didn't fall properly asleep after that.

On the plus side, I'm not draggy tired like I was yesterday.

Gotta get back to stuff.  By the way, this is the last day of summer. Yay!

Have a good day

Much love,

PK the Bookeemonster
