Ahhhh..... the weekend cometh.

 TGIF.

As you can probably tell from my recent posts, I'm pretty much going to be setting up my bullet journal.

Of course, I won't be getting the entire month done in one weekend. I have the spreads sketched out in my mind, now I have to put them in the real August journal which should be at the house when I get there after work.

I have to pencil in the lines and lettering of the pages and think inking over those lines. That will be the bulk of what I do tomorrow. Splash page, monthly layout, five weekly spreads, book reading spread, habit tracking spread, and thirty-one days times four pages.

And sticker-ing and decorating.

And ready to go on Monday.

Otherwise, the usual stuff happening on the weekend.

May be a cartoon of text that says 'Behold δΈ€ my collection of craft supplies! Wow! What do you make? Huh? What do you do with them? Ienjoy the possibilities!'

  Have a good weekend

Lay off the cheeks, I'm smiling...

 Thursday

So I'm getting closer to GO time with the bullet journal.

I went to Michaels a bit ago and got some printer sticker paper so now I need to print some stickers and cut them out. The new journal arrives tomorrow.  On Friday night and Saturday at coffee shop, I'll probably pencil in the spreads -- month of August, habit trackers, weekly spreads, and daily journal pages. Then ink them in. Then sticker/decorate them. It will be a process. But starting on Monday.

It's a lot of work, particularly in the beginning set up and the decisions to make, but my mission in doing this is to make my daily writing habit someplace pretty to go but also to help me keep doing it.

Steve's got a committee meeting tonight. I'll do ..... something.

 Have a good day

I'm not coming out!

 Wednesday

Very little time today. Steve's got the gun range. I'm planning to work on the bullet journal and maybe some reading. I've got to figure out what I'm doing for my RBS tomorrow -- potentially I could do steak and blue cheese like I planned but I have some of my beef to Ryker this morning.

Really, I just want to flop on the couch and not have anything expected. What I should do is meditate. I haven't done that in a while.

Have a good day

Hiding from the heat (raspberry)

 Tuesday

I'm re-configuring -- or re-imagining -- my bullet journal. This has to be a purposeful endeavor, not an all-consuming waste of time. I watched some videos on YouTube last night for some minimalist spreads which were very very helpful.

At lunch today I decided the journal I currently have will be my "garbage" one. Where I can plan things out and set up templates, etc. I have on order a different one for the beginning of August. It should be here Friday.

Also at lunch, I templated (I made that a verb) the spreads for the monthly page, the habit tracker page, and the weekly page from the videos I watched. I like them.

Tonight I hope to find templates/ideas for the daily pages. I'm thinking I'm preferring the minimalist style in general. I love and adore the decorating creativity possible and I will do that but I need to have a functioning tool foremost.

 Have a good day

Back at work

 Monday

I had a good weekend. Went to the coffee shop on Saturday. I didn't bead. I strategized my bullet journal (BuJo for short in the lingo of the BuJo world).

There will be much experimentation for the first few weeks, I'm sure. I'm thinking, for what I will use this for, each journal will be a month. This one will have the last week of July included as a place for me to try things.

Once I get my preferred format set, it will get easier. And when I get my stickers it will be more fun. I will have a section to keep track of my reading; one to keep track of the salads that work. I will have a monthly page, weekly pages, and then daily pages.

I think I'm sticking to reading INTO THE DARKNESS by J. A. Sutherland. 1st of 6 in series featuring Alexis Carew. SFF

At fifteen, Alexis Carew has to face an age old problem - she's a girl, and only a boy can inherit the family's vast holdings. Her options are few. She must marry and watch a stranger run the lands, or become a penniless tenant and see the lands she so dearly loves sold off. Yet there may be another option, one that involves becoming a midshipman on a shorthanded Navy spaceship with no other women.

Published 2014; 312 pages.

This is the second day without AC at work. I think they've forgotten us. I've got a big fan but it's not helping much. Just wanna go home and stand in a cool shower.

Have a good day

Aroooooooo Friday

 TGIF

I'll be going to the coffee shop tomorrow for bead group but that's it for plans.

Otherwise just the same old stuff. I don't think Steve has anything planned either. We're just going to hunker down.

OH, I just got notification that my bullet journal kit and basic supplies will be arriving today! All the sticker stuff from Etsy won't be but maybe I can run by Hobby Lobby or Michaels at lunch to get some stuff to play with and get the last week of July going in it.

Oh boy!

 Have a good weekend

'Nuff

Thursday. Guess what? Still hot.

I don't know if I'm going to read the Sanderson book at this time. I tried last night and couldn't connect. I wound up finally watching a documentary on YouTube from The Chosen that was live that Sunday and I missed it. Soooo moving and inspiring. It was just what I needed.

I don't know about tonight. Steve will have left overs. Whatever happens, happens.

Have a good day

Disappointed it's only mid-week ....

Wednesday.

 And it's hot.

I think I'm going to start WARBREAKER by Brandon Sanderson. Stand alone.

The story of two sisters, who happen to be princesses, the God King one of them has to marry, the lesser god who doesn't like his job, and the immortal who's still trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago. Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren's capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can only be collected one unit at a time from individual people. By using breath and drawing upon the color in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be accomplished. It will take considerable quantities of each to resolve all the challenges facing Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris; Susebron the God King; Lightsong, reluctant god of bravery, and mysterious Vasher, the Warbreaker.

Published 2009; 669 pages. I've been meaning for YEARS to read Sanderson; he is highly regarded in the SFF world. I guess it just hasn't been the time. Maybe now is the time.

But of course I also have a lot of other options so something else may jump the queue.

Steve's got the gun range tonight. He apparently didn't get much sleep last night so he's not been pleasant to be around. Glad he's got something else to do this evening.

So I will maybe probably sorta read this evening. I'm thinking for my salad tomorrow I have left over makings for the pizza salad so I'll probably have that. I had the Reuben salad today. It was okay. The best part was the Swiss cheese cubes. I added caraway seeds that I for sure won't be doing next time.

Have a good day
