Only Wednesday

Hot and tired and burning eyes from allergies. Just blah.

I'm listening to my Youtube list of "chair dancing" songs to try to perk up.

Love Shack, Shout, Leave Your Hat On, These Boots Were Made for Walking, Minnie the Moocher, Mony Mony, etc.

Steve has the gun range tonight. I'll either bead or read or just rest my eyes.

Didn't I do that last night?

Have good day

Trying to stay cool ...

Tuesday. Upper 90s today.

Currently listening to SHAKESPEARE'S LIBRARY: Unlocking the Greatest Mystery in Literature by Stuart Kells

Millions of words of scholarship have been expended on the world’s most famous author and his work. And yet a critical part of the puzzle, Shakespeare’s library, is a mystery. For four centuries people have searched for it: in mansions, palaces and libraries; in riverbeds, sheep pens and partridge coops; and in the corridors of the mind. Yet no trace of the Bard’s manuscripts, books or letters has ever been found. The search for Shakespeare’s library is much more than a treasure hunt. Knowing what the Bard read informs our reading of his work, and it offers insight into the mythos of Shakespeare and the debate around authorship. The library’s fate has profound implications for literature, for national and cultural identity, and for the global Shakespeare industry. It bears on fundamental principles of art, identity, history, meaning and truth. Unfolding the search like the mystery story that it is, acclaimed author Stuart Kells follows the trail of the hunters, taking us through different conceptions of the library and of the man himself. Entertaining and enlightening, Shakespeare’s Library is a captivating exploration of one of literature’s most enduring enigmas.

Monday attitude

I'm at work but I don't have to like it, right?

The weekend was pretty ok. I worked on the orange necklace quite a bit. Did the usual stuff.

Nothing on TV tonight so either reading or beading.

Have a good day

Rough week but made it

TGIF! I'm ready to be set free.

The weekend cometh!

My beading class that was on Sunday was postponed. It's ok. I was still needing some items to try with the project, I wasn't thrilled with it being on Sunday -- it's usually on Saturdays, and this gives me time to do nothing and bead and read. I do enjoy the class and the ladies I get to hang out with but it's also nice to not have obligations.

There's a new made for Amazon series starting today that I'll maybe check out. Called The Boys.

A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers.

So we'll see. I still need to watch SO many shows. Criminal Minds, Lucifer, Killjoys. And I'd like to rewatch a whole HELLUVA more shows. Timeless, Scorpion, The Blacklist, Arrow, Agents of S.H. I. E. L. D.

But then it's the weekend and all I want to do is nap.

And to close, here's a Tom Keen:

Have a good weekend

When you don't have AC

Thursday.

It's still summer.

A couple months ago I bought concert tickets for Steve -- Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. Hard hard hard rock. Tonight is the concert. I told him from the beginning I wouldn't be going -- just not my kind of music but I wanted him to enjoy it.

So I will have my usual evening of reading and playing with beads.

Have a good day

Umm, trying ...

Halfway through the week. Not so bad, right?

Ok, it's not the weekend, I get it. It's HOT. We once again give thanks to Willis Carrier

Steve has the gun range tonight. I do not.

I'll do the same schtick -- hang out with the dogs, play with some beads, read some pages, and then fall into a deep uninterrupted sleep until morn.

It could happen.

Have a good day

You WILL go to work

Oh bother. Nothing really to write about. I'm enjoying reading the Williams fantasy book. I haven't officially started a new bead project because I'm playing around with learning stuff for the next class on Sunday afternoon. So that's about all I'm going to be doing again this evening. Reading. Beading. Bed. Boring.

Have a good day

Why do they mess things up?

So I suppose you're wondering how my binge of the new Veronica Mars was this weekend? Well .... it started out ok-ish.

Veronica, however was behaving like a real wench. Just horrible. Here's my reaction that I posted on Tumbler:

I get that Rob Thomas, et. al. are giddy that they’re back and they’re back on Hulu which allows them to do grittier, hard core, things. After being a fan for so long, I gotta say I’m hating this Veronica. She’s a freaking bitch. She’s treating people around her horribly. Yeah, your high school years sucked in ways other people’s didn’t - best friend killed, raped while unconscious, etc. Logan’s was equally if not more so – mother’s suicide, father slept with and killed Logan's girlfriend (same girl from above) and then tried to kill his current girlfriend (Veronica), being accused of murder, etc. – yet he didn’t let his pain and anger turn him into a monster, internalizing it and taking it out on the people around him.
Veronica scorns Wallace’s (!) lifestyle. Wallace, her best friend for so long. OMG, the way she treats Weevil for not dealing with his legal issue the way SHE wanted but he did what he felt was right for his family at the time. And not only treats him god-awful but has a kid re-arrested so she can have “leverage” over him. And poor Logan. She barely holds a sneer when he behaves like a mature adult who has dealt with his own issues and is attempting to give guidance to the woman he loves. She flipping blames him after turning down his proposal. I wanted to yell at the screen, “Run, Logan, run!” And her father. She’s apparently so wrapped up in herself she’s not really giving much thought to his memory lapses, multiple times practically barks at him to pull it together.
I’m not interested in hearing anything about PTSD or any other excuses if they’re going to play that card. This was a writer/director/actress choice to go in this direction and they’re certainly free to do so. Even if the ending was different, I would be done with this character’s storyline. The choice to go in the direction they did for no reason other than shock value just confirmed it.

About that ending. I'm not there yet. I'm on episode 7 of 8. I finished the first three Friday night. Then Saturday morning I was reading about people hating the ending.

So. Yeah. I read about the ending.  They killed off Logan. A main character. The love interest that for three seasons and movie we were trying to get together.

After so much they've both been through. Whatever. This is the summer of KILLING OFF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS.  First The Blacklist and now this. I get it. It's cool.Whatever.

It's only a story. And my favorite type of story is "true love delayed." I know. I know.

If only. One hopes.

Currently re-reading STONE OF FAREWELL by Tad Williams. 2nd of Memory Sorrow and Thorn fantasy trilogy.

It is a time of darkness, dread, and ultimate testing for the realm of Osten Ard, for the wild magic and terrifying minions of the undead Sithi ruler, Ineluki the Storm King, are spreading their seemingly undefeatable evil across the kingdom. With the very land blighted by the power of Ineluki’s wrath, the tattered remnants of a once-proud human army flee in search of a last sanctuary and rallying point—the Stone of Farewell, a place shrouded in mystery and ancient sorrow. An even as Prince Josua seeks to rally his scattered forces, Simon and the surviving members of the League of the Scroll are desperately struggling to discover the truth behind an almost-forgotten legend, which will take them from the fallen citadels of humans to the secret heartland of the Sithi—where near-immortals must at last decide whether to ally with the race of men in a final war against those of their own blood.

Published 1990; 602 pages.

Nothing on TV tonight. I had a neck ache last night pretty badly so I'll probably to bed early.

Have a good day

Woot and more!

It's Friday and .... They've released season 4 of Veronica Mars a week early!!! It's available NOW!!

So guess what I'll be doing this weekend?! Squee!!

I. Am. Gobsmacked.

And I found the PERFECT focal piece for the orange necklace I'm going to do next. Here's a reminder of the project (the outside circle):

And these are the beads I got for it:

But I don't like those bead enhancer thingies that this designer made so I was looking for a focal piece on Etsy  .... and voila (and then some!):

Isn't that so cool?! I hope it comes together like I picture it. The feeling you get when your beading creativity just WORKS:

Steve has Big Sky State Games in the morning. I have a haircut and maybe coffee with Mom. And to make the post complete, here's a Tom Keen:

Have a good weekend
