Ah the good life ... and if Steve snored like this I don't think I'd mind

I'm currently reading THE OTHER DAUGHTER by Lauren Willig. This is a stand alone. Here's a description:
Raised in a poor yet genteel household, Rachel Woodley is working in France as a governess when she receives news that her mother has died, suddenly. Grief-stricken, she returns to the small town in England where she was raised to clear out the cottage...and finds a cutting from a London society magazine, with a photograph of her supposedly deceased father dated all of three month before. He's an earl, respected and influential, and he is standing with another daughter-his legitimate daughter. Which makes Rachel...not legitimate. Everything she thought she knew about herself and her past-even her very name-is a lie. Still reeling from the death of her mother, and furious at this betrayal, Rachel sets herself up in London under a new identity. There she insinuates herself into the party-going crowd of Bright Young Things, with a steely determination to unveil her father's perfidy and bring his-and her half-sister's-charmed world crashing down. Very soon, however, Rachel faces two unexpected snags: she finds she genuinely likes her half-sister, Olivia, whose situation isn't as simple it appears; and she might just be falling for her sister's fiancé...

Published in 2015, it has 305 pages. It doesn't say, but it is set in 1920s.

Hoooooot today. Hooooooooot. Mid-90s forecasted which means it will probably hit triple digits because weather people lie.

Yeah, that's all I got. Have a lovely day.

What? It's Monday? Hunh? What are you saying?

I'm currently reading MURDER ON THE MIND by L.L. Bartlett. This is 1st of 6 in series featuring Jeff Resnick, former insurance investigator in Buffalo, New York. Here's a description:
Jeff Resnick hardly knew his well-heeled half-brother. But after suffering a fractured skull in a vicious mugging, he reluctantly accepts the fact that he has a long and brutal recovery to face - and his closest of kin can provide him with the time and place to do it. Now, Jeff is haunted by unexplained visions of a heinous crime - a banker stalked, killed, and eviscerated like a ten-point buck. When Matt Sumner's murder is discovered, a still-recovering Jeff realizes this was what he had seen. Jeff must not only convince himself of his newfound psychic ability, but also his skeptical brother, Richard Alpert. Since Sumner was Richard's banker, both brothers have a stake in finding out what happened. With Richard's reluctant help, Jeff's investigation leads him to Sumner's belligerent family and hard-nosed business associates, none of whom want him snooping around. When Jeff discovers a second victim, he knows he must relentlessly chase his quarry, even if it means risking his brother's life.

Published in 2005, it has 272 pages.

Back to hot temps this week; back in the 90s. Yuck.

Not much going on this week other than an appointment today. Laying low for the rest of the week.

Longest week EVER

I need a weekend, stat. Just gotta hold it together for one more day.

And just to rub it in, the weather this morning was dark and damp. PERFECT staying home and sleeping in after walking the dogs weather.

Steve has a gun tournament tomorrow to work all day. I'll be hanging with the boys and doing the chores.

So. Nine and a half hours more of work and then it will be the weekend!

Have a great weekend, guys.

Oh yeah, gotta sneak in some Deeks:

It's all love, baby, it's all love

On the front desk for the rest of the week. I knew ahead of time so I'm not as cranky about it.

However, I have to say, so far my 2015 has been like this:

But I'm working on it. And just for that, just to make me happy, I'm going to sneek in a little Deeks:

[happy (lustful) sigh]
