I don't want to today

And it's only Tuesday. Oh boy.

I've got meditation class tonight so no TV for me.

I started another book today, nonfiction, SHATTERED: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

It was never supposed to be this close. And of course she was supposed to win. How Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election to Donald Trump is the tragic story of a sure thing gone off the rails. For every Comey revelation or hindsight acknowledgment about the electorate, no explanation of defeat can begin with anything other than the core problem of Hillary's campaign--the candidate herself. Through deep access to insiders from the top to the bottom of the campaign, political writers Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes have reconstructed the key decisions and unseized opportunities, the well-intentioned misfires and the hidden thorns that turned a winnable contest into a devastating loss. Drawing on the authors' deep knowledge of Hillary from their previous book, the acclaimed biography HRC, Shattered will offer an object lesson in how Hillary herself made victory an uphill battle, how her difficulty articulating a vision irreparably hobbled her impact with voters, and how the campaign failed to internalize the lessons of populist fury from the hard-fought primary against Bernie Sanders. Moving blow-by-blow from the campaign's difficult birth through the bewildering terror of election night, Shattered tells an unforgettable story with urgent lessons both political and personal, filled with revelations that will change the way readers understand just what happened to America on November 8, 2016.
Published 2017, it has 480 pages.

Have a good day

So Monday, we meet again

And the week starts again.

Still reading the McIntosh book, about half way through.

Nothing for me on TV tonight but I'll watch Street Outlaws with Steve.

I'm up to date on my binge watch of Chicago Med.

I'm now catching up on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

And then there's a couple episodes of Bull that I'm behind in.

I made crockpot steak to have over potatoes for dinner tonight. I made it a week or so ago and it was fantastic. I don't know what I did to make it so good but I'm hoping I can recreate it.

Have a great day

TGIF

No NCIS Los Angeles on TV. Nothing really on all weekend .... except The Ten Commandments! Tomorrow!

I adore Anne Bancroft in that movie.

I'll probably read next THE NICHOLAS FEAST by Pat McIntosh 2nd of 11 in series featuring Gil Cunningham, a notary in 15th century Glasgow, Scotland.

Gil Cunningham returns to his old university for the Nicholas Feast, where he and his colleagues are entertained by a play presented by some of the students. One of the actors, William Irvine, is later found murdered and Gil assisted by Alys, begins to disentangle a complex web of espionage and blackmail involving William's tutors and fellow students. Matters are further complicated by the arrival of Gil's formidable mother who is determined to inspect his betrothed. Little do Alys and Gil realise that it will be she who provides the final, vital key to unmask the murderer and lay his motives clear.

Published in 2005, it has 286 pages.

Happy Easter and have a good weekend

Yep, it's a Monday

The weekend went by so fast.

I did manage to finish a few books over the last couple days. I finished the Tessa Arlen, read a quick contemporary-ish romantic-ish book, a very quick thing on Virginia Woolf, and finished the re-read of DUNE. The DUNE re-read was part of the re-read on Tor.com, just doing a couple chapters at a time over the past twenty weeks and reading the commentary. Next up is the next book in the series, DUNE MESSIAH. I've been enjoying the re-reads going so slowly because it allows me to pay attention to the structure of the book rather than rushing through for the storyline/adventure of it.

Next up ...  a new one will show up tonight that I'm really really excited about.

COLD WELCOME by Elizabeth Moon.

I read this SFF series a couple years ago, I think. I just inhaled them, because I thought they were so good.

The author wrote the last book in the series in 2008 and now she has a new one! Woot!

Last night's NCIS: LA had a quick little scene of Deeks and Kensi dancing. It was lovely.

Tonight, Steve has the two-hour season premiere of Street Outlaws. I'll probably watch with him.

Have a great day. See ya later

" I can see you, Fred, you're not a ninja."

TGIF!

I've got spirit circle tonight.

And I have my two Human Design classes over the weekend but I may skip them because I really need to do some cleaning.

On Sunday I have NCIS: Los Angeles "From Havana With Love":

The NCIS team investigates a defense contractor, who is designing a nuclear attack weapon, after her estranged husband says he has proof she is selling Navy secrets to a foreign government. Kensi then goes undercover as a professional dancer at the Cuban club where the husband works, while Deeks works undercover as the bathroom attendant

Have a great weekend
