We made it ... happy!

It's a three-day weekend.

I'm ready for it.

No plans this weekend other than napping, cleaning, Internet-ing, and working on my book.

I came across these today. So funny.

 Have a good weekend

Hold on, hold on, it's not Friday yet

But we're getting closer.

Started reading UNIFIED: How Our Unlikely Friendship Gives Us Hope for a Divided Country by Senator Tim Scott and Congressman Trey Gowdy. Nonfiction.

In a divided country desperate for unity, two sons of South Carolina show how different races, life experiences, and pathways can lead to a deep friendship—even in a state that was rocked to its core by the 2015 Charleston church shooting. Tim Scott, an African-American US senator, and Trey Gowdy, a white US congressman, won’t allow racial lines to divide them. They work together, eat meals together, campaign together, and make decisions together. Yet in the fall of 2010—as two brand-new members of the US House of Representatives—they did not even know each other. Their story as politicians and friends began the moment they met and is a model for others seeking true reconciliation. In Unified, Senator Scott and Congressman Gowdy, through honesty and vulnerability, inspire others to evaluate their own stories, clean the slate, and extend a hand of friendship that can change your churches, communities, and the world.

Published 2018; 240 pages. I'm liking it a lot actually. And Trey, or course, is one of my favorites.

Tonight on TV I have Making the Team about Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

Otherwise, back to working on characters for my book.

Have a good day

I know that look.

Wednesday. Only Wednesday.

Yeah, but we're getting closer to the three-day weekend. Oh and speaking of NCIS LA:

Woot!

Steve has the gun range tonight. I will be working on my book. Character stuff.

I think I may be sticking with AT ALL COSTS by David Weber. 11th of 13 in Honor Harrington SFF series.

What price victory
The war with the Republic of Haven has resumed . . . disastrously for the Star Kingdom of Manticore. Admiral Lady Dame Honor Harrington, Steadholder and Duchess Harrington, the single victorious Allied commander of the opening phase of the new war, has been recalled from the Sidemore System to command Eighth Fleet. Everyone knows Eighth Fleet is the Alliance's primary offensive command, which makes it the natural assignment for the woman the media calls ''the Salamander.'' But what most of the public DOESN'T know is that not only are the Star Kingdom and its Allies badly outnumbered by the Republic's new fleet, but that the odds are going to get steadily worse. Eighth Fleet's job is to somehow prevent those odds from crushing the Alliance before the Star Kingdom can regain its strategic balance. It's a job which won't be done cheaply. Honor Harrington must meet her formidable responsibilities with inferior forces even as she copes with tumultuous changes in her personal and public life. The alternative to victory is total defeat, yet this time the COST of victory will be agonizingly high.

Published 2005; 864 pages.

Have a good day

Tuning out .... well damn.

Steve has a board meeting tonight. I've got nothing on TV so I need to work on my book.

Yeah, because I didn't yesterday evening because I was reading the Gabaldon book. No more goofing off.

It was very nice to see the moon and the sun be the right color. Lately they've been red with smoke. And able to to see some stars too. Hope it lasts.

That's about it.

Have a good day

Ready for Monday

Just gotta get through the week.

Tonight we have Street Outlaws to view on TV. Otherwise reading and then bed.

Currently reading DRUMS OF AUTUMN by Diana Gabaldon. 4th of 8 in the Outlander series.

Claire and Jamie, with Jamie’s nephew Young Ian, seek to find a place for themselves in the colony of North Carolina, treading a dangerous line between Governor Tryon’s patronage and Claire’s knowledge of the brewing revolution in America, between the help of Jamie’s Aunt Jocasta, last of his MacKenzie kin (“MacKenzies are charming as larks in the field–but sly as foxes with it.”) and the unwanted obligations of her slave-run plantation.  As they find mountain land and begin to build their first cabin, their newfound life is bittersweet, with the thought Brianna–the daughter Claire has left behind, the daughter Jamie will never see–always near. Brianna is thinking of her parents, too.   And she’s discovered something dangerous in the historical record; a notice of a fatal fire on Fraser’s Ridge. The time-traveler’s ultimate dilemma raises its head once again:  can the past be changed?   If it can…what’s the price?

Published 1996; 880 pages.

Whatcha doin'?

My day started out ... interestingly. I forgot to turn on my alarm. Instead of 5:00, I woke up at 5:50. I did get the boys walked. Quickly; no dawdling. No car ride. They did get breakfast. I did get a shower in. I was rushed, as you can imagine. So my day was thrown off from the beginning.

We have Battlebots tonight. And Live PD. Oh, I was asked yesterday about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders show. One could watch previous episodes of this season on the following link:

http://www.cmt.com/shows/dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-making-the-team/episode-guide

I believe all you need is your cable company info, like Spectrum.

Otherwise, this weekend, it will be the usual. Cleaning, napping, watching some more Criminal Minds, and working on my book.

Trying to make this the best book I can write, I've been working with a book called THE 12 KEY PILLARS OF NOVEL CONSTRUCTION by C.S. Lakin.

It's been helpful. I'm using it like a workbook, working on concept, character goals, themes, etc.

Stuff I need to have structurally in place NOW because ultimately I plan five books ....

Oh, that's ok ...

Have a good weekend.

Hey, PK, can I tell you about a ... nevermind.

I looked up a list of menopause symptoms. There's 35 potential symptoms available from which to choose.

Crankiness is a huge one for me. I hate it.

Night sweats. Yeah, getting those.

Crashing fatigue. Check.

Probably a couple others. Fun times.

Tonight I've got Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders to watch. Otherwise, doing what I can on the book. And taking a running start at sleep.

Getting closer to the weekend, folks.

Have a good one

Days?! Hours, maybe.

Wednesday.

The word "days" is also appropriate here. No bad days, only good days that go horribly wrong. I've had a year of them.

Tonight Steve has the gun range. I'm going to work on my book. Nailing down structural things.

Slow going but necessary. Ideas come when I do this.

Have a good day
