Just the usual stress

 Thursday

Nothing to report today. Usual stuff.

I'll fix Steve something for dinner. We could I guess watch Street Outlaws from Monday for a bit. Last night's bead/read thing holds for tonight too.

I mean, I'm working on stuff in the background. I'm gathering materials to study body energy and chakras and auras and things like that. But that's probably not interesting.

Have a good day

It's Wednesday. It's hot. 'Nuff said

 Wednesday.  Summer is here.

Steve's got the gun range tonight. I don't think they'll be stormed out. Something is supposed to blow through this afternoon but should be okay for the evening.

Me, I'm just gonna hang out with the boys. I'd like to read. I need to bead if I want to complete the found objects by the deadline on Monday. But maybe I won't do it. Maybe, even though I have the beads and the designs, I won't feel pressured to complete things. Be free.

 Have a good day

Don't you be messin' with me

 Tuesday

I'm about to start THE LOCKED ROOM by Elly Griffiths. 14 of 14 in series featuring Dr. Ruth Galloway, a forensic archaeologist, and Harry Nelson, a detective chief inspector, in the Saltmarsh area near Norfolk, England

Three years after her mother’s death, Ruth is finally sorting through her things when she finds a curious relic: a decades-old photograph of her own Norfolk cottage—before she lived there—with a peculiar inscription on the back. Ruth returns to the cottage to uncover its meaning as Norfolk’s first cases of Covid-19 make headlines, leaving her and Kate to shelter in place there. They struggle to stave off isolation by clapping for frontline workers each evening and befriending a kind neighbor, Zoe, from a distance. Meanwhile, Nelson is investigating a series of deaths of women that may or may not be suicide. When he links a case to an archaeological discovery, he breaks curfew to visit Ruth and enlist her help. But the further Nelson investigates the deaths, the closer he gets to Ruth’s isolated cottage—until Ruth, Zoe, and Kate all go missing, and Nelson is left scrambling to find them before it’s too late.

The weekend's over? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo

Yes, Monday.

So the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup so there, thankfully, won't be a Game 7. Tonight we'll probably watch Street Outlaws which we've missed a couple episodes now. Ah well. I think I'll make for Steve's dinner some Velveeta and shells and some hamburger.

I'm on Day 28 of my Eat Like a Bear food plan. Still going strong. I finally made some homemade ranch dressing yesterday. It was good. Yes, homemade salad dressings do taste better.

I finally finished reading MALIBU RISING by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Stand alone.

Malibu: August 1983. It’s the day of Nina Riva’s annual end-of-summer party, and anticipation is at a fever pitch. Everyone wants to be around the famous Rivas: Nina, the talented surfer and supermodel; brothers Jay and Hud, one a championship surfer, the other a renowned photographer; and their adored baby sister, Kit. Together the siblings are a source of fascination in Malibu and the world over—especially as the offspring of the legendary singer Mick Riva. The only person not looking forward to the party of the year is Nina herself, who never wanted to be the center of attention, and who has also just been very publicly abandoned by her pro tennis player husband. Oh, and maybe Hud—because it is long past time for him to confess something to the brother from whom he’s been inseparable since birth. Jay, on the other hand, is counting the minutes until nightfall, when the girl he can’t stop thinking about promised she’ll be there. And Kit has a couple secrets of her own—including a guest she invited without consulting anyone. By midnight the party will be completely out of control. By morning, the Riva mansion will have gone up in flames. But before that first spark in the early hours before dawn, the alcohol will flow, the music will play, and the loves and secrets that shaped this family’s generations will all come rising to the surface.

Published 2021; 386 pages. Her books are stand alones but there are cross over characters. As always, there's 80% tell and 20% show. I dunno why I read 'em -- beach read, I guess.

I'll have a new release to read tomorrow. I'll tell you about it then.

 Have a good day

Yeah ... weekend

TGIF

We will watch Game 5 of Stanley Cup tonight. Hopefully the Avs clinch it. I'll be going to the coffee shop for beading tomorrow. I think tomorrow's meal I will be trying a version of caprese salad with tuna. We'll see what all gets thrown in there. Just the usual stuff that happens on the weekend. Reading, beading, napping, hanging with the boys, binge watching, laundry, prepping for meals for the next week.

 Have a good weekend!

Side eye

 Thursday

Day 24 of food plan. Still doing well. I had a pizza salad today. Tomorrow I think I'll be having the steak and blue cheese, my fave. Nothing really going on this evening. I'm still semi-slumping in reading -- reading many but can't close the deal both in audio and Kindle. I have found objects designed but not motivated to jump in during week-day evenings. Binge watching several things, jumping around there too. Maybe I'll just read.

Have a good day

Attitude

Wednesday

Steve has a board meeting tonight at the gun range so he will miss probably most if not all the Game 4 of the Stanley Cup. I don't think I'll watch it without him though I'll keep track of the score. I may meditate, I may read, I may bead. Either way, I'll be hanging with the boys.

I can't seem to settle on a book. I think I have about four going now.

Have a good day

Free for two days... Mleh!

 TGIF

I'll be going to the coffee shop tomorrow for beading. I'll probably work on the tapestry as that is easiest to haul around. The beads I've ordered to go with my found objects are showing up so I could work on that this weekend.

We'll have game two of Stanley Cup to watch tomorrow.

Otherwise, just the same old same old.

 Have a good weekend

I can see the weekend coming

 Thursday

No real plans after work. Nothing on TV. Maybe I can bead this evening. I did get notification that some beads for what I'd like to make with the found objects have been delivered.

Day 17 of food plan. I had the pizza salad I created. It was very good. Still reading/listening to audios.

Have a good day
