Seriously?

Monday

I worked both days on the Found Objects Challenge that was due today by midnight. Nine pieces, two days. Here's the Found Objects I started with this time:

 Here's what I made:

I'm currently reading GREENVALE by Alice Sabo. 2nd of 5 in Tales of Haroon high fantasy series

For as far back as he could remember, Chance had been able to feel wrongness in the world. With that also came the ability to sense rightness, but that didn’t mean he could always fix it. And sometimes that knowing got him into a lot of trouble. Until he met Brand. Chance knew as soon as he saw him, that working for Brand was right. It gave him a safe place with people who accepted his odd knack. Until the day the wrongness was so big he blacked out. With monsters and magic invading his simple life, Chance has to learn how to use his inborn abilities to keep safe those he cares about the most.

Published 2019; 236 pages.

Also started TEARS OF PEARL by Tasha Alexander. 4th of 16 featuring Lady Emily Ashton, a young widow in Victorian London.

Looking forward to the joys of connubial bliss, newlyweds Lady Emily and Colin Hargreaves, diplomats of the British Empire, set out toward Turkey for an exotic honeymoon. But on their first night in the city, a harem girl is found murdered, strangled in the courtyard of the Sultan's lavish Topkapi Palace. Sir Richard St. Clare, an Englishman who works at the embassy in Constantinople, is present and recognizes the girl as his own daughter who was kidnapped twenty years earlier. Emily and Colin promise the heartbroken father that they'll find her killer, but as the investigation gains speed, they find that appearance can be deceiving—especially within the confines of the seraglio. As a woman, Emily is given access to the forbidden world of the harem and quickly discovers that its mysterious, sheltered walls offer no protection from a ruthless murderer. As the number of victims grows, Emily must rely on her own sharp wis in a heart-stopping finale if she is to stop a killer bend on exacting vengeance no matter how many innocent lives he leaves in his wake.

Published 2009; 320 pages. When I read this back in 2009, I think this is the book that I got stalled on with the series. And again reading it now, it just doesn't pull me and I don't know why. It should. It has an interesting exotic setting that I usually love. Maybe it's something I just need to skim read to get through to the next book.

Steve's got a committee meeting at the gun range tonight. Receptionist called in sick and it's been a crazy busy day. I'm going to do my bullet journal writing pages, read, and call it a day.

 Have a good day

 Much love,
