Home ... it's where I wanna be ....

Been a bit crazy busy. Sorry.

Nothing on TV tonight. Oooo, except I could watch back to back to back episodes of Hawaii Life. I'm beginning to think being a Snow Bird and going to Hawaii every winter or just plain moving there would be nice.

We've been getting a lot of snow lately and another storm is on the way and very very cold temps. I'm done with winter. I don't want to play winter anymore.

And I don't want to play office any more this week.

I'm ready for a weekend.

I'm currently reading WALKING THE BIBLE: A Journey by Land through the Five Books of Moses by Bruce Feiler.  Nonfiction.

Both a heart-racing adventure and an uplifting quest, Walking the Bible describes one man's epic odyssey—by foot, jeep, rowboat, and camel—through the greatest stories ever told. From crossing the Red Sea to climbing Mount Sinai to touching the burning bush, Bruce Feiler's inspiring journey will forever change your view of some of history's most storied events.

Where I wanna be

Oh if only.....

And in other fun news winter has moved in and is not going away. I'm cold. It's snowing and not stopping ...  I'm dreaming of warm (not hot) places.

I know I know.

Tonight on TV we have Curse of Oak Island. "Voyage to the Bottom of the Cenote":

A frightening development at the Money Pit threatens to halt the search indefinitely..

And then bed. It's going to be a long week.

Have a good day

Where do they go?

I seriously did very little this weekend. And it was good. And we're back for another week of work.

Tonight we'll watch Street Outlaws, No Prep Kings for bit. May not make the full two hours.

We're getting closer! Nine YEARS in the making. Deeks and Kensi getting married. March 17th episode.

Yes, it's TV. I don't care.

Just starting THE BLACK ASCOT by Charles Todd. 21st of 21 in series featuring Ian Rutledge, a shell-shocked World War I veteran returning to his job at Scotland Yard.

An astonishing tip from a grateful ex-convict seems implausible—but Inspector Ian Rutledge is intrigued and brings it to his superior at Scotland Yard. Alan Barrington, who has evaded capture for ten years, is the suspect in an appalling murder during Black Ascot, the famous 1910 royal horse race meet honoring the late King Edward VII. His disappearance began a manhunt that consumed Britain for a decade. Now it appears that Barrington has returned to England, giving the Yard a last chance to retrieve its reputation and see justice done. Rutledge is put in charge of a quiet search under cover of a routine review of a cold case. Meticulously retracing the original inquiry, Rutledge begins to know Alan Barrington well, delving into relationships and secrets that hadn’t surfaced in 1910. But is he too close to finding his man? His sanity is suddenly brought into question by a shocking turn of events. His sister Frances, Melinda Crawford, and Dr. Fleming stand by him, but there is no greater shame than shell shock. Questioning himself, he realizes that he cannot look back. The only way to save his career—much less his sanity—is to find Alan Barrington and bring him to justice. But is this elusive murderer still in England?

We get to not deal with people for two days?

TGIF.

Gotta say. This was a challenging week.

That is either my last nerve, how close some people came to being killed or how much alcohol.

I have NO plans this weekend. I'm going NOWHERE.

Tonight we have Live PD and Strike Back, Episode 5:

After a high-speed jungle ambush in Myanmar, the suitcase nukes end up with Jean-Baptiste Zaza, a Rwandan drug lord with a jealous streak. Even as they continue to suspect Zarkova's motives, Section 20 journeys to the Punchan Province and connects with Lauren...

NCIS Los Angeles isn't on this week. If only I could sneak a Deeks to tide me over until next weekend ....

m'kay.

So. Reading, hanging with boys, computering, napping....

Outta here. Have a good weekend

Safe?

Yesterday, being SO shorthanded, fortunately was fairly quiet on phones and walk ins, thank goodness.

So far today hasn't been horrible.

Nothing really on TV. May watch 48 Hours. Just kinda worn out. It's been a tough week.

Have a good day

Today's mood:

People.

The horrible 2018 continues well into 2019. Our service manager, who turned in notice but his last day was going to be Friday and it's been a crazy week already, decided yesterday was his last day with us so he could start his new job that much sooner.

But on the brighter side, we have a new Service Manager able to start tomorrow or Friday.

Steve isn't going to the gun range tonight. There isn't anything really on TV for me. Sleep would be good.

All will be better soon.

Have a good day

Better-ish today.

But it's only Tuesday.

Tonight we have Curse of Oak Island. I then have This Is Us, "Our Little Island Girl":

Beth's trip home to care for her mother sparks an unexpected realization.

And if I want to stay up late, New Amsterdam, "The Forsaken":

Sharpe struggles when a case hits too close to home and Iggy uncovers a patient's surprising past. Meanwhile, Floyd  makes progress in his personal life after some difficult news.
I think I'm starting THE HUNTING PARTY by Lucy Foley. Stand alone.

During the languid days of the Christmas break, a group of thirtysomething friends from Oxford meet to welcome in the New Year together, a tradition they began as students ten years ago. For this vacation, they’ve chosen an idyllic and isolated estate in the Scottish Highlands—the perfect place to get away and unwind by themselves. The trip began innocently enough: admiring the stunning if foreboding scenery, champagne in front of a crackling fire, and reminiscences about the past. But after a decade, the weight of secret resentments has grown too heavy for the group’s tenuous nostalgia to bear. Amid the boisterous revelry of New Year’s Eve, the cord holding them together snaps. Now, on New Year’s Day, one of them is dead . . . and another of them did it.

See, I'm smiling

And the hits just keep on coming. This is our service manager's last week (good riddance) and one of our commercial guys was no call/no show today.

Steve has a lead on a possible hire for the service manager. He's the son of a good friend so maybe fingers crossed there.

And being Monday, it's been stupidly crazy busy. I don't think I should be around people.

(Ah crap, I just saw the typo there but I'm going to leave it anyway).

Nothing really on TV for me. Arrow is a repeat not that I'm really watching it anyway. We'll watch Street Outlaws No Prep. But hey, let me sneak a Deeks from last night.

Ooooo, intense look! Pretty!

Currently reading A LADY'S GUIDE TO ETIQUETTE AND MURDER by Dianne Freeman. 1st of 2 in series featuring Frances Wynn, the Countess of Harleigh, a young American-born widow in 1899 London.

Frances Wynn, the American-born Countess of Harleigh, enjoys more freedom as a widow than she did as a wife. After an obligatory year spent mourning her philandering husband, Reggie, she puts aside her drab black gowns, leaving the countryside and her money-grubbing in-laws behind. With her young daughter in tow, Frances rents a home in Belgravia and prepares to welcome her sister, Lily, arriving from New York—for her first London season. No sooner has Frances begun her new life than the ghosts of her old one make an unwelcome appearance. The Metropolitan police receive an anonymous letter implicating Frances in her husband’s death. Frances assures Inspector Delaney of her innocence, but she’s also keen to keep him from learning the scandalous circumstances of Reggie’s demise. As fate would have it, her dashing new neighbor, George Hazelton, is one of only two other people aware of the full story. While busy with social engagements on Lily’s behalf, and worrying if Reggie really was murdered, Frances learns of mysterious burglaries plaguing London’s elite. The investigation brings death to her doorstep, and Frances rallies her wits, a circle of gossips, and the ever-chivalrous Mr. Hazelton to uncover the truth. A killer is in their midst, perhaps even among her sister’s suitors. And Frances must unmask the villain before Lily’s season—and their lives—come to a most unseemly end. . . .

I probably won't choose wine tonight but the attitude is the same with the lemonade I usually have:
