Happy Friday

 TGIF

We don't have much going on by way of plans this weekend. I'm going to the bead shop for a few hours. I haven't been in for a month. It will be very good to see my peeps again.

And hopefully I will be productive while there too. Lots of Christmas stuff to get moving on. Otherwise, all my astrology friends are saying "hunker down" on Halloween - the full moon and the planets are aspecting into some powerful energies that they advising not to be out and about in.

Funnily enough, that was my plan for most of the weekend.

I'm still reading the Huber. Nothing on TV. I can't work on the ornaments that I'm doing for gifts for the beading group AT the bead shop but I got all the beads in so I could start it at home. That may be a Sunday thing.  And napping. Sure. Always.

Have a good weekend

Monday blech again

Yep, here we are again. Cold weekend. Service Manager in Florida (back tomorrow). Da Boss in a foul mood.

I did do some beading this past weekend. I've made two out of the five points of the puffy star ornament.

Currently reading AN ARTLESS DEMISE by Anna Lee Huber. 7th of 9 in series featuring Lady Darby, a widow taking refuge at her sister’s estate, in 1830s Scotland

November 1831. After fleeing London in infamy more than two years prior, Lady Kiera Darby's return to the city is anything but mundane, though not for the reasons she expected. A gang of body snatchers is arrested on suspicion of imitating the notorious misdeeds of Edinburgh criminals, Burke and Hare--killing people from the streets and selling their bodies to medical schools. Then Kiera's past--a past she thought she'd finally made peace with--rises up to haunt her. All of London is horrified by the evidence that "burkers" are, indeed, at work in their city. The terrified populace hovers on a knife's edge, ready to take their enmity out on any likely suspect. And when Kiera receives a letter of blackmail, threatening to divulge details about her late anatomist husband's involvement with the body snatchers and wrongfully implicate her, she begins to apprehend just how precarious her situation is. Not only for herself, but also her new husband and investigative partner, Sebastian Gage, and their unborn child. Meanwhile, the young scion of a noble family has been found murdered a block from his home, and the man's family wants Kiera and Gage to investigate. Is it a failed attempt by the London burkers, having left the body behind, or the crime of someone much closer to home? Someone who stalks the privileged, using the uproar over the burkers to cover his own dark deeds?

The weekend

 TGIF

It's going to be cold and another winter storm warning this weekend so I don't have plans to go anywhere.

What I'd LIKE to do is a LOT of beading. I have SO MUCH to do. One of the things I want to try this weekend is this 3D peyote star ornament for the Christmas tree at work.

And this pattern for the tree as well:

And experimenting with this which I'm thinking about for office people Christmas gifts:

And that's not counting the ornaments I want to do for presents for my beading friends but I don't have all the supplies yet for that.

And I want to read my book. I'm at the 68% mark.

 And napping and cleaning, etc.

Have a good weekend

Lemme explain ....

 I don't know why I missed yesterday.

Steve's got the gun range tonight. I really really really need to do some beading soon. Christmas is coming. I've got ornaments to make.

And I really want to read my good book.

And we're expecting a lot more snow again.

Have a good day

Got some snow ...

It snowed all freaking weekend long. This was at noon yesterday off our back deck.

We only had two weeks of Autumn!

It's just not right. I did make some Swiss Mushroom Cheeseburger soup on Saturday that turned out well, I think. And I made homemade chicken noodle casserole last night that I didn't really care for that much. Tonight is left overs probably.

Currently reading OATH OF GOLD by Elizabeth Moon. 3rd of The Deeds of Paksenarrion trilogy.

Paksenarrion—Paks for short—was somebody special. Never could she have followed her father’s orders and married the pig farmer down the road. Better a soldier’s life than a pig farmer’s wife, and so, though she knew that she could never go home again, Paks ran away to be a soldier. And so began an adventure destined to transform a simple sheepfarmer’s daughter into a hero fit to be chosen by the gods. Now an accomplished warrior in her own right, Paks takes on a holy quest that will test her limits. For the gods are no longer pleased with Paksenarrion, and their wrath may well spell her destruction.

Published 1989; 480 pages. I finished book two last night about 10pm. It ended on a cliffhanger with Paks in a very bad place so I HAD to download the next book and read until she was safe.

I did do a little beading last night. At last. Felt good.

I've ordered a bunch of beads for projects, Christmas ornaments and so forth, and it looks like by my email notifications, that a bunch got delivered today. It's gonna be fun checking the mail when I get home!

Nothing on TV tonight so after dinner, I'd really rather just read my book.

Have a good day

Much love,
