What we'd rather be doing

 Wednesday

Steve's got the gun range tonight. I will read. Oh I need to make my Egg Roll Soup for lunches.

I stopped by the coffee shop at lunch. It was at 2 instead of 1 because someone had already reserved the room. I did not know that school got out at 2 on Wednesdays. What freaking slackers teachers are. It was good to see the gang.

Yesterday I came across a website that is home base for a thing called The 100 Day Project. The idea is simple: choose a creative project, do it every single day for 100 days, and share your process on social using the hashtag #The100DayProject.

It actually starts this Sunday. And you can do anything. Draw, paint, crafts, photography, fiber arts, scrapbook, etc. You can learn a new thing. You can start a project. You can finish a project you've already started. Do this thing for a minimum of 10 minutes every day until May 24th.

It's okay if you miss a day -- the goal is to just keep going. However many days it takes to do the project is perfect. I haven't nailed down what I'm going to do. I thought about learning punch needle since that is something I've been interested in pursuing.

And I prefer the flatter look rather than the big loops. I do have some of the tools. And I'm more interested in pillows and rugs. Useful things.

But for the 100 day project,  I think I may stick with jewelry making. I've got a lot of pieces I've already got planned and want to do. And I have the found objects things not only the official one through Thunderhorses but others. I've got A LOT of beads in the house through subscription boxes and other purchases. I've been wanting to expand my knowledge of other branches of beading like wire wrapping, chainmaille, and looming. And I've also wanted to do a big beaded tapestry type pattern as well. This is the one I already have the pattern for:

It's about 8" x 11". So anyhoo,  I've got until Sunday. Mostly I want to build a habit of doing this hobby anytime, every day, and I don't have to devote hours to it in order to get anything done. Minimum ten minutes a day. Every day.

Wish me luck. I don't want this to be another started-and-not-completed-thing.

Have a good day

Much love,

PK the Bookeemonster
