With the Independence Day long weekend, a lot of people make plans. They hop in their RV, hook up the boats, or travel to spend time with families and/or friends. I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I prefer to do none of these things. I feel that one will usually come back from such activities more tired and wrung out than when they left. Why would you do that? I want a long weekend to recover from the previous weeks and prep for the upcoming ones.
Tomorrow night, our neighborhood will be ground zero for fireworks. We're outside of city limits therefore it's a free-for-all of big boomers. The last few nights have been a small preview, of course. I've given Ryker a couple Benedryl hoping it would make him sleeping but it's not. We'll take the dogs downstairs tomorrow night and have the TV on to muffle noises and maybe a big fan going. I'm thinking of picking up a couple big bones from the meat market to distract them that way as well. Coda sometimes behaves like he's scared because he sees Ryker getting attention but mostly he just barks at the "threat".
Hot hot hot for the foreseeable future. In the 90s. Blech blech blech.
Much love,
PK the Bookeemonster
