Too hot for too long

Monday again.

And in the 90s again for the umpteenth day in a row.

Nothing on TV for me tonight. So the same old same old.

I think I'm sticking with THE LOST BOOK OF THE GRAIL by Charlie Lovett. Stand alone.

Arthur Prescott is happiest when surrounded by the ancient books and manuscripts of the Barchester Cathedral library. Increasingly, he feels like a fish out of water among the concrete buildings of the University of Barchester, where he works as an English professor. His one respite is his time spent nestled in the library, nurturing his secret obsession with the Holy Grail and researching his perennially unfinished guidebook to the medieval cathedral. But when a beautiful young American named Bethany Davis arrives in Barchester charged with the task of digitizing the library’s manuscripts, Arthur’s tranquility is broken. Appalled by the threat modern technology poses to the library he loves, he sets out to thwart Bethany, only to find in her a kindred spirit with a similar love for knowledge and books—and a fellow Grail fanatic. Bethany soon joins Arthur in a quest to find the lost Book of Ewolda, the ancient manuscript telling the story of the cathedral’s founder. And when the future of the cathedral itself is threatened, Arthur and Bethany’s search takes on grave importance, leading the pair to discover secrets about the cathedral, about the Grail, and about themselves.

Leaving work on a Friday

TGIF

I don't have any plans this weekend other than class on Sunday. Not going to circle tonight.

So this weekend is for cleaning, meditating, computering, reading, and napping.

Well, some of it.

Maybe.

Ok, I WILL be doing more Scorpion binging. Back in Season 2 now.

And probably finish the Robb book.

Have a good weekend

Apparently not

Thursday, people! Woot! Closer to the weekend.

So yesterday morning while walking the dogs at 5:15, it was 53. I actually put on a light fleece because the body is now acclimated to so hot. This morning at the same time, it was already 69 degrees. And really thick out with humidity. So yeah, still summer. Yuck.

Nothing on TV for me tonight so I'll meditate....

.... re-watch some more Scorpion ....

.... and continue reading the Robb book. And then get some lovely sleep. For tomorrow is Friday.

See you later

Hold me

Having a day.

It's temporary. I know.

I've got Broadchurch tonight, if I watch it. I may do some office cleaning if the feeling still occurs by tonight. Reading the Robb book -- the main character is rather different in this first book than her later ones.

Ok, gotta go. See you tomorrow!

Don't we all

Nothing on TV for me tonight. It's the summer doldrums.

I've landed on a book...

Currently re-reading NAKED IN DEATH by JD Robb. 1st of 45 in series featuring Eve Dallas, a homicide lieutenant in futuristic New York City.

It is 2058, New York City. Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over ten years on the force, she's seen it all—and knows her survival depends on her instincts. And she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire—and a suspect in Eve's murder investigation.

Published in 1995, 320 pages. I'm re-reading for a discussion next month on 4MA. Since I chose the series, I'd better participate. Plus, I first read this book when it first came out in 1995 so it's been a while. I read it before it was known that the author was Nora Roberts.

No, but it's been 22 years. Wow. And we're lucky enough that she writes two books a year, hence the million and 45 books in the series. And maybe this will get me out of my reading slump. Doubt it, because I'm still fangirling on Scorpion.

Yeah, in particular Toby and Happy.

Otherwise, I'm taking advantage of my again-found splurge on my story. Working on floor plans and org chart.

Have a great day

Did you see what day it is?

Starting all over again.

I am happy to say I didn't go anywhere this weekend, except Friday night. I stayed home both days.

I got some cleaning done which is good. I worked a wee bit on my story idea, made some progress in world building. I finished watching the third and most recent season of Scorpion. Aaaaannnd I'm starting over with season one to pick up things I missed the first time.

That's what it's like when I'm in the middle of an obsession. I have no control. Fan-girling.

Nothing on TV for me tonight. Nothing chosen for reading yet.

It's another hot in-the-90s day out there. Yuck. And it's still only July.

Have a good one

Woof!

I just started season 3 of Scorpion. As you can see, I'm enjoying it, particularly the relationship between Toby and Happy.

I'm happy to say that I don't have anything going on this weekend other than circle tonight. My Sunday class was cancelled for this one time. So I'll be able to do some cleaning, computering, napping and watching Game of Thrones live.

"Stormborn":

Daenerys has a surprise visitor; Jon faces a revolt; Tyrion draws up plans to conquer Westeros
Books. Yeah. Not there yet.

Exactly. I don't know. Maybe see the binge mentioned above.

I ask myself that a lot. Have a good weekend

Almost to the weekend

I still haven't chosen a fiction book to read. I may have narrowed it down to handful of options.

I have, however, still been binge-watching Scorpion. I'm on episode 13 of 24 of Season 2 of 3.

Nothing on TV tonight for me. I'll be doing the usual.

Gotta go. Have a great day!

Much love,
