Asking for a friend ...

It's usually not horrible horrible at work. I usually do it for the joke.

So I was stupid last night and didn't go to bed in a timely fashion at all. I finished the romance book.

Nothing on TV. But I was thinking that maybe we could get caught up on a series that started up again last weekend and we didn't know it. Strike Back.  Season 6 episode 1:

Six months after their last mission, three members of the British special-ops Section 20 team--Gracie Novin, Samuel Wyatt and Thomas "Mac" McAllister--are reunited for what they think is a routine "cleanup" exercise in Malaysia. Things get complicated when their new commanding officer, a borderline burn-out named Alexander Coltrane, learns that a British operative, in possession of intel about a downed Russian plane, has been killed in Kuala Lumpur after meeting with a covert Russian operative, Katrina Zarkova. The trail leads Wyatt, Mac and Novin to a Russian safehouse where Katrina and her team of Russian soldiers are attempting to track a mysterious "package" stolen from the plane, which crashed into the ocean under suspicious circumstances. The confrontation gets bloody when members of a brutal Malaysian triad arrive, setting off a chain of dangerous encounters in the skies and skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur.

Section 20 is back! Let the failures begin!

Yeah, that woulda helped

Last night's concert was ok for the most part. I just want a time machine to see these acts in the 1970s in their prime.

The opening act was pretty good, The Record Company. It was their first night opening for Bob Seger so they were still kinda giddy. Here's the last song they did -- great drum beat.

We got home at 11.

Tonight Steve has the gun range. I've got nothing on TV so I hope to read and go to bed early. Because of the late night, I didn't get much sleep.

It became obvious I was getting stalled out in my reading, or rather re-reading, so I've switched things up to jump start things. The Michael Jecks book is good and I'm just starting THREE LITTLE WORDS by Jenny Holiday. 3rd of 3 in the Bridesmaids Behaving Badly romance series.

Gia Gallo is officially in bridesmaid hell. Stranded in New York with her best friend's wedding dress, Gia has six days to make it to Florida in time for the ceremony. And oh-so-charming best man Bennett Buchanan has taken the last available rental car. Looks like she's in for one long road trip with the sexiest - and most irritating - Southern gentleman she's ever met... Bennett's pretty sure that if there was ever a woman to break his "no flings" rule, Gia would be it. Sure, she's stubborn. She's also funny, smart, and the attraction between them is getting hotter with every state line they cross. While Bennett doesn't do casual, Gia doesn't do "relationships." But if they break the rules, this unlikely pair might discover that their impromptu road trip could turn out to be the best ride of their lives.

And that's about it for today.

Rocks everywhere

And it's only Tuesday.

Yeah, just people and things in general.

Tonight Steve and I are going to a Bob Seger concert. I've always said I don't like to see these kinds of acts when they're in their 70s. But Steve really likes his music and I had gotten these tickets in 2017 but that concert was cancelled due to his health issues.

And me being the extroverted introvert, woke up this morning not wanting to do anything this evening.

But once we're there, I'm sure I'll love it.

The seats are good but there will be over 9000 people so traffic will be yucky especially all leaving at once so it will be a late night probably.

Have a good day

.... Or not.

How's my Monday going?

Speaking of Fitz, finally a trailer for season 6 of Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This is also the series finale season.

TV last night was pretty ok. Finally got an intimate conversation scene from NCIS Los Angeles.

And on the season finale of Outlander, of course, Roger and Brianna were finally reunited.

Tonight there's Arrow that I'm not really watching right now because I'm not that thrilled with the story direction.

Steve has Street Outlaws; I'll probably watch with him.

Currently reading THE OUTLAWS OF ENNOR by Michael Jecks. 16th of 32 in series featuring Simon Puttock, medieval West County bailiff, and Sir Baldwin Furnshill, ex-Templar Knight, in Devon, England

On the return from their pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, in the summer of 1323, Sir Baldwin de Furnshill and Bailiff Simon Puttock's ship is attacked by pirates. But on the island of Ennor, he must put aside his fears and investigate the murder of Robert, the island's hated tax collector, at the behest of master of the castle, Ranulph de Blancminster. Meanwhile, washed up on the other side of the island, Baldwin begins his own investigation of the same murder. Woot!

Oh and look at those eyes! Ooo da baby boo boo. He doesn't like wearing slippers on his feet. Why did you dress him that way? They don't get it and a lot don't like it.

Anyhoo. I do have a thing tomorrow to go to but I don't think I'll go. Partly because the roads aren't the best -- doable but if one has the option to avoid them ....

I have friends who will have booths or doing speaking and I want to support them but I also kinda just want to stay home with the boys, play with my new Surface, and nap.

We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

On Sunday, I have the season four finale of Outlander, "Man of Worth":

Jamie, Claire and Young Ian’s attempt to rescue Roger from his Mohawk captors goes awry when a ghost from Claire’s past lays waste to their plan. Meanwhile, Brianna worries Claire, Jamie and Roger might not return.

And NCIS Los Angeles, "Smokescreen":

The NCIS team partners with the FBI to locate a terrorist cell in Los Angeles believed to be prepping for an imminent attack

Oh, we did watch Bohemian Rhapsody last night. It was good overall. I teared up a couple times and so made that he died with so much left to do. The movie has been nominated for awards, etc. But I'm wondering if the acclaim is more for acknowledging what an amazing person Freddie Mercury and the band were than for actual GOOD FILM MAKING.

The actor who plays Freddie Mercury does a good job, and has already won a Golden Globe so far, but he plays him TOO effeminately -- yes Freddie Mercury was gay but he was not a girly gay man  --- which was brought home when at the end of the movie there is footage of the real man during the credits. There is just a raw powerful sexuality that was missing.

The casting of the band was terrific. And of course the movie plays fast and loose with the facts. But being reminded of Queen's FAN FREAKING TASTIC performance at Live Aid was good.

So, yeah, glad we watched it. I'd watch it again and recommend it.

Have a good weekend

I'm done with humans!

It's not really being a bad day. It's the humans in it.

Just stupid work stuff. But we soldier on.

Nothing on TV for me. I had suggested a couple days ago that tonight may be the best one to watch Bohemian Rhapsody via On Demand.

We'll have to play it by ear -- no pun intended.

If not, then reading or journaling/book-ing.

Have a good day

Snowing again

Well winter came again this week. Overall, we've had a very mild season thus far. Not this week.

Nothing on TV for me tonight. Steve has the gun range. I've got my new tablet to set up/play with so I'll probably do that.

Whee! Or a lot of painful computer setting up stupidness. We'll see. Or I could just read or watch the shows I didn't watch last night. Actually, if I set up my tablet on our wireless, then I could watch the shows on that. Hmmm.

So either way -- home, cozy, probably soup for dinner, hang with the boys.

Have a good one

Tonight on TV we have The Curse of Oak Island, "Finger Made of Stone":

A mysterious, carved stone discovered at the money pit suggests an early Viking presence on Oak Island and at Smith's Cove, the team may have finally discovered the elusive Oak Island box drains..

This Is Us, "The Songbird Road, Part One":

Rebecca and the Big Three reckon with secrets Jack kept from them. Jack's Vietnam story continues to be revealed.
And there's a new docu-series starting on A&E that sounds interesting, The Many Sides of Jane:

Single mom Jane has Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D.) and nine other identities, or parts, that range in age from 6 to 28. Navigating relationships gets complicated as each part has its own agenda..

I've been interested in that disorder since reading a book or two when I was in junior or high school. It will be interesting to check it out.

Have a good day
