The weekend is mine, capiche?

TGIF.

No plans this weekend. Coda hasn't been doing very well with his back end so I'll be keeping him resting.

I had a wonderful morning. I stopped by Albertsons and FINALLY ran into my bestest friend Nikole. It had been over a year. I thought she had moved to another town to be near family. It just made my week.

I'll do some beading. I'll hopefully do some cleaning. I'll do some napping. I think my cough is finally deciding to exit.

Yeah, we'll watch the SuperBowl. I've ordered a collar for Ryker. He reacts the same way to football games as fireworks. This collar is supposed to have pheromones and lavender to keep dogs calm. I'll give it a try.

And after the game is the beginning of a new cycle of The Masked Singer.

Have a good weekend

Afternoon thoughts....

Wednesday.

Steve has the gun range tonight but he may not be going because he had to do a service call out of town. He isn't heartbroken if he doesn't make it.

Nothing on TV tonight. I wound up watching Arrow. I had to. The finale, fergoodnesssakes.

I did tear up a little. It's over.

I'll have to go back and watch some of this season. Apparently Oliver did something that made some beloved characters come back from being killed. I was confused there for a bit.

A friend of mine who does angel tarot card readings and has done events in town, called me on Sunday to tell me about a new event happening in September along the lines of the Renaissance Fair though more along a them of fairies. She asked if I'd be interested in sharing a table with her to sell my jewelry. After some thought, I supposed that was as good an opportunity to get my toes wet in that kind of thing as any. And I was looking on Youtube and came across this bracelet tutorial and thought it was cute, quick and easy to make, and maybe something I could do for this fairy fair thing.

I have most of the materials, I think, just a couple things I needed to pick up at the bead store today so I'm hoping to give this bracelet a whirl this evening.

Have a good day

This Is Us "Hell of a Week, Part 2":

And New Amsterdam, "14 Years, 2 Months, 8 Days":

The day had to come. Oliver and Felicity were legendary.

I began to string the size 11/0 bead crochet bracelet. Colors are white, orange, and peach. 11/0s are SO TINY!!!

I'll be doing more of that tonight. Have a good day

Wishing and hoping and dreaming....

Speaking of dreaming, I had a dream last night that seemed to go on for a long time, that I was attending a drama class taught by Alan Rickman.

How awesome is that?

This is the bracelet I made on Saturday.

I'm not totally thrilled with it. It's not my colors. But it was fun to make. The next class, in a couple weeks looks fun. I think I'll be doing a color scheme of black, rose gold, and sky blue.

Currently reading CAPTAIN VORPATRIL'S ALLIANCE by Lois McMaster Bujold. 14th of 16 in Vorkosigan series

Captain Ivan Vorpatril is happy with his relatively uneventful bachelor's life of a staff officer to a Barrayaran admiral. Ivan, cousin to Imperial troubleshooter Miles Vorkosigan, is not far down the hereditary list for the emperorship. Thankfully, new heirs have directed that headache elsewhere, leaving Ivan to enjoy his life on Komarr, far from the Byzantine court politics of his home system. But when an old friend in Barrayaran intelligence asks Ivan to protect an attractive young woman who may be on the hit list of a criminal syndicate, Ivan's chivalrous nature takes over. It seems danger and adventures have once more found Captain Vorpatril. Tej Arqua and her half-sister and servant Rish are fleeing the violent overthrow of their clan on free-for-all planet Jackson's Whole. Now it seems Tej may possess a hidden secret of which even she may not be aware. It's a secret that could corrupt the heart of a highly regarded Barayarran family and provide the final advantage for the thugs who seek to overthrow Tej's homeworld. But none of Tej's formidable adversaries have counted on Ivan Vorpatril. For behind Ivan's façade of wry and self effacing humor lies a true and cunning protector who will never leave a distressed lady in the lurch—up to and including making the ultimate sacrifice to keep her from harm: the treasured and hardwon freedom from his own fate as a scion of Barrayar.

Published 2012; 432 pages.

Nothing really on TV tonight. And I'm kinda in between beading projects. What I should do is string for my first 11/0 sized bracelet.

Or I may just read and go to bed.

Have a good day

No, just the week

TGIF.

I've got a bead class tomorrow. This is the project we're doing.

And here's the color palette of the beads I'll be doing.

Otherwise not much going on this weekend. The usual.

I hope to finish the Shepherd book shortly. Napping will be in my future. I'll probably string another bead crochet project.

Have a good weekend

Friday's coming soon, right?

Friday Eve.

I gave up on the 14-bead circumference bracelet. The purple beads losing their color irritated me. I did start the 8/0 bead black thread bracelet. This was actually, many months ago, my first attempt at bead crocheting. I didn't realize then that doing it with black thread is actually rather difficult (at least for me) because it's difficult to see the lay of the thread. Also at the time, the beads were too small for a beginner like me. And this black thread is very light weight so again for a beginner it wasn't a good go. Since then, I've learned it's easier for me to start any project with three rows of an alternating color even with a pattern. So this is what I started last night:

And I'm enjoying it again. I may need a little more practice to do a larger circumferenced project.

Nothing on TV tonight. Probably have Law & Order on while we have dinner.

Have a great day

That look says someone didn't get a cookie

Wednesday.

Steve has the gun range. I don't have anything on TV but I didn't watch all of This Is Us or any of New Amsterdam last night.

I didn't bead last night either. I'm hoping I can do some tonight as well.

I didn't even really have much interest in reading last night either. Took a shower after dinner and cleaning up and read a few pages and turned out the light. That was lovely.

Have a good day

Much love,

Waiting for the ride home ....

Tonight is TV night. First up, Curse of Oak Island, "Gary Strikes Again":

Excitement abounds when Gary uncovers what could be a "friend of the cross."
Then, This Is Us, "A Hell of a Week, Part 1":

Randall deals with anxiety.
And finally, New Amsterdam, "Hiding Behind My Smile":

Max and Luna make friends in an unexpected place as he struggles with the realities of being a single father. Meanwhile, Kapoor takes a big step in order to help his family.
On a side note, I believe Arrow is on its second-to-the-last episode ever tonight. I haven't watched  this season because it's kind gone off the rails, IMHO. Sad to see it go but it was time especially after Felicity left the show.

About to start PROFILES IN CORRUPTION: Abuse of Power by America's Progressive Elite by Peter Schweizer. Nonfiction.

For over a decade, the work of five-time New York Times bestselling investigative reporter Peter Schweizer has sent shockwaves through the political universe.
Clinton Cash revealed the Clintons’ international money flow, exposed global corruption, and sparked an FBI investigation. Secret Empires exposed bipartisan corruption and launched congressional investigations. And Throw Them All Out and Extortion prompted passage of the STOCK Act. Indeed, Schweizer’s “follow the money” bombshell revelations have been featured on the front pages of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and regularly appear on national news programs, including 60 Minutes.
Now Schweizer and his team of seasoned investigators turn their focus to the nation’s top progressives—politicians who strive to acquire more government power to achieve their political ends.
Can they be trusted with more power?
In Profiles in Corruption, Schweizer offers a deep-dive investigation into the private finances, and secrets deals of some of America’s top political leaders. And, as usual, he doesn’t disappoint, with never-before-reported revelations that uncover corruption and abuse of power—all backed up by a mountain of corporate documents and legal filings from around the globe. Learn about how they are making sweetheart deals, generating side income, bending the law to their own benefits, using legislation to advance their own interests, and much more.
Published 2020. 368 pages. This guy is the real deal. His books are momentous and backed by research.

I started the new bead crochet bracelet last night. A) I've been doing only 6-bead circumferences. This patter is 14-bead circumference. Apparently it makes a difference. I'm struggling with it a bit. B) The gorgeous purple color bead are losing their color. Scraping off. Pissing me off.

Have a good day
