It's only Wednesday

Being Wednesday, Steve's got the gun range tonight. I don't have anything on TV, I'm kinda between books and can't really decide what's next yet. I could bead but I also kinda just want to veg.

So a bit of a quiet day.

Perspective

 Monday.

How the bracelet at bead class turned out:

Prettier in person.

Next up on Saturday is:

I'm either going with jewel tones....

... or a very citrus-y color scheme

Maybe both, this looks like an easy and quick one to do.

Because The Ten Commandments wasn't on last night -- Passover weekend -- I started reading COUNTED WITHE THE STARS by Connilyn Cossette.

Sold into slavery by her father and forsaken by the man she was supposed to marry, young Egyptian Kiya must serve a mistress who takes pleasure in her humiliation. When terrifying plagues strike Egypt, Kiya is in the middle of it all. To save her older brother and escape the bonds of slavery, Kiya flees with the Hebrews during the Great Exodus. She finds herself utterly dependent on a fearsome God she's only just beginning to learn about, and in love with a man who despises her people. With everything she's ever known swept away, will Kiya turn back toward Egypt or surrender her life and her future to Yahweh?

Published 2016; 354 pages. I kinda had high hopes but it's kinda meh verging onto blech.

Being a colder, windy type of day and we have Street Outlaws starting at 6, I'm going to make some crockpot chicken pot pie of some sort when I go home for lunch.

Have a good day

It's the weekend, beeyotches

 TGIF

Currently reading THE PROPOSAL by Jasmine Guillory. 2nd of a romance series but this is the first for me so therefore (duh) I'm not reading in order.

When freelance writer Nikole Paterson goes to a Dodgers game with her actor boyfriend, his man bun, and his bros, the last thing she expects is a scoreboard proposal. Saying no isn't the hard part—they've only been dating for five months, and he can’t even spell her name correctly. The hard part is having to face a stadium full of disappointed fans...At the game with his sister, Carlos Ibarra comes to Nik’s rescue and rushes her away from a camera crew. He’s even there for her when the video goes viral and Nik’s social media blows up—in a bad way. Nik knows that in the wilds of LA, a handsome doctor like Carlos can't be looking for anything serious, so she embarks on an epic rebound with him, filled with food, fun, and fantastic sex. But when their glorified hookups start breaking the rules, one of them has to be smart enough to put on the brakes...

Published 2018; 335 pages.

As you may have noticed from my posts, I have a bead class tomorrow afternoon. This is the bracelet we're doing. Recap:

Colors are dark copper and patina.

We'll see how it goes.

No other plans for the weekend. Just doing the usual stuff. Whatever.

 Have a good weekend

Outnumbered

Thursday.

Tonight we have BattleBots and Steve will pick up some dinner, maybe Arby's again. I needs to play with my beads some more for Saturday's class. I'm sticking with the copper and patina color scheme but I think I'm liking the size 15/0 (smaller) beads rather than the 11/0 even though the 11/0s stack up snugly.

Last night I played mostly with the 11/0s. Tonight I'll complete a 15/0 pyramid just to confirm. And even though I have some sparkly beads picked out for the other part of the bracelet, I've got a bunch of copper beads I'd like to take another look at.

Oh you know I will. I will work it to DEATH.

I had my eye appointment today; always fun to interact with those folks. I'm getting new glasses -- a teal color this time.

Have a good day

All dogs are angels

Wednesday. No post yesterday because receptionist called in.

The blog creator here is acting wonky with the photos so I'll cut it short today.

Steve has the gun range tonight. I will play with some beads and then read a little before bed.

All is well.

Have  a good day

Monday attitude

Monday. We had a pretty quiet weekend. Didn't go anywhere. Read a lot. Napped some. Beaded a little.

Read over the weekend THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVEYLYN HUGO by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Stand alone.

Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now? Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere. Regardless of why Evelyn has selected her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jumpstart her career. Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story. From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love. Monique begins to feel a very real connection to the legendary star, but as Evelyn’s story near its conclusion, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.

Published 2017; 402 pages.

Currently reading TO FIRE CALLED by Nathan Lowell. 2nd of SFF series.

Captain Ishmael Wang finally gets the Chernyakova out of the yard and embarks on a voyage into the Toe-Holds where the Confederated Planets Joint Committee on Trade has no authority. Where the law is whatever you say it is as long as you can enforce it. Where he learns that some will do anything to hide their secrets and everybody has a secret.

Published 2017; 330 pages.

Have a good day
