Auld Lang Syne

Thursday. I didn't get to go to beading yesterday at lunch because I had a flatter than flat tire. So flat that Steve couldn't put air in it to get it fixed. He had to take the tire itself. It was done by closing time.

No plans for the weekend other than watching Casablanca, beading, and organizing the beads piles at last. My storage thingies showed up yesterday.

Currently reading AN ARGUMENTATION OF HISTORIANS by Jodi Taylor. 9th of 13 in the St. Mary's Chronicles.

January 1536 - the day of Henry VIII's infamous jousting accident. Historians from St Mary's are there in force, recording and documenting. And, arguing - obviously. A chance meeting between Max and the Time Police leads to a plan of action. And, it's one that will have very serious consequences - especially for Max. Her private life is already more than a little rocky. But with Leon recovering and Matthew safe in the future there will never be a better opportunity to bring down Clive Ronan, once and for all. From Tudor England to the burning city of Persepolis - and from a medieval siege to a very nasty case of 19th century incarceration - Max is determined that this time, he will not escape.

Why oh why?

Wednesday. It was going to be a good day going to meet up the beading peeps at lunch. But no. I had a flatter than flat tire. And now I have a pissed off spouse.

I'm trying to learn to deal with stress and all the other things. To let it go.

 I'm getting better at it.

And if you want to get really deeply philosophical, there is no problem. Just an emotional response to a perception.

 But in the mean time.....

Steve's got the gun range tonight. I don't have to come up with dinner unless no one shows up. I haven't figured out yet what I'm reading next but it may be a St. Mary's Chronicles. And I need to do some beading.

Have a good day. I'll leave with the words of an American philosopher, painter Bob Ross:

Winter's just getting started, isn't it?

 Tuesday

I would like to bead when I get home from work in the evenings. And I really need to.  I have Candy's birthday bracelet to do before the end of January. Yeah, I just looked it up. It's the 19th. I have less time than I thought. I will probably do a very simple two-color pattern like this for her only in teal and gold:

But then expand it into a bracelet/necklace duo that can be worn together or each apart similar to this idea:

And with magnet clasps at the ends of each bracelet and necklace for easy changeability.

But I also want to work on a simple bracelet for myself. Here's the pattern:

I don't know why but I love the color combos for a winter-type feel.

I finished GOVERNOR by Weber last night. I liked it. I've finished 75 books this year now. I probably won't complete another book before Saturday.

  Have a good day

I know why we have to work but why do we have to go to work?

 Monday.

Christmas was relaxing and enjoyable. I'm just about done with the David Weber book. I watched some more episodes of The Wine Show. We watched the new Matrix movie. I liked it.

I didn't bead. I didn't organize. I did some cooking and napping and being with the doggos.

Happily, we have one more three-day weekend coming up. So only four days this week. Again.

It's extremely cold out today. We're just gonna go home, have some soup and grilled cheese and hunker down.

 Have a good day

Merry Christmas Eve Eve

 Thursday.

Sorry for not posting yesterday. It was a cluster of a day. It's been a cluster of a week. But it's almost done.

This was our postman, Rudy, today. He does this every year.

He's a good guy.

But today is the last day of the work week. Steve is probably going to pick up dinner.

And then we're not going ANYWHERE.

On a sadder note, no fly over by Santa over Billings on Christmas Eve but I will probably check in on NORAD online as they track the red-suited dude throughout the day.

I'll probably do outrageous things like napping, reading, beading, binge-ing, etc.

So that's it. See you on Monday.

Have a Merry Christmas!

All is well

Tuesday. Mostly a better day. Putting out several little problems but better than yesterday.

I've been having ideas today about a beading project organization system. I wonder if I put it together and tested it if it worked, that people would buy it if I sold it.

Tonight we have Curse of Oak Island to watch. I'm rather enjoying the book I'm reading. New SFF series! But I should also get Candy's Christmas present necklace out and see if I like it still. I've been thinking I should re-do it a little.

 But not a lot.

Steve and I are both counting down to the three-day weekend. And then we're not going anywhere for three whole days.

That's it for today.

Have a good day

Much love,
