There's been a change in the reading lineup. I'm currently reading A LONG SHADOW by Charles Todd. This is 8th of 16 in series featuring Ian Rutledge, a shell-shocked World War I veteran returning to his job at Scotland Yard, in London. Here is a description:
Rutledge travels to the remote and desolate English village of Dudlington after the town constable is shot in the back with an arrow while exploring a forest shunned by the locals. The inspector suspects a connection between the attack and the disappearance of a young girl, but he finds himself in an unfamiliar role when an unknown stalker targets him, leaving ominous clues that indicate that he's vulnerable at all times. Rutledge first encounters his unknown and unseen adversary after a dinner at the home of mutual friends on New Year’s Eve, 1919. Leaving before the other guests, he finds a brass machine gun cartridge casing on the doorstep. It’s like countless others he’s seen in the trenches—but what is it doing on a quiet London street, far from France? And this one has been engraved.
Steve's brother is in town and we have limited time to pow wow so not sure about meals and TV watching, and even posting I guess. If I'm able, tonight I have Say Yes to the Dress and Strike Back to watch.
There was a little bit of snow on the lawns this morning but nothing sticking to the roads - too warm yet. Supposed to be in the 60s this weekend.
Much love,
