Ditto

Maybe I've broken my book slump. I'm being cautious. I'm currently reading THIS SHATTERED WORLD by Amie Kaufman and Meghan Spooner, 2nd of Starbound trilogy.

Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac should never have met. Lee is captain of the forces sent to Avon to crush the terraformed planet's rebellious colonists, but she has her own reasons for hating the rebels. Rebellion is in Flynn's blood. His sister died in the original uprising against the powerful corporations that terraformed Avon. These corporations make their fortune by terraforming uninhabitable planets across the universe and recruiting colonists to make the planets livable, with the promise of a better life for their children. But they never fulfilled their promise on Avon, and decades later, Flynn is leading the rebellion. Desperate for any advantage in a bloody and unrelentingly war, Flynn does the only thing that makes sense when he and Lee cross paths: he returns to base with her as prisoner. But as his fellow rebels prepare to execute this tough-talking girl with nerves of steel, Flynn makes another choice that will change him forever. He and Lee escape base together, caught between two sides of a senseless war. As Flynn and Lee attempt to uncover the truth about Avon, they realize that there is a conspiracy on the planet that runs deeper than either of them could imagine, one that Lee's former commander Tarver Merendsen only scratched scratcehd the surface of two years ago. The stunning second novel in the Starbound series is an unforgettable story of love and forgiveness in a world torn apart by war.

Published in 2014; 400 pages.

On the TV front, one my shows got cancelled. Scorpion. Oh Toby and Happy.

Seasons one through three were great. Season four ... wasn't. In fact, I haven't watched the final episodes yet. It was a great show that made science geek-ery fun and watching Toby and Happy fall for each other was true-love-delayed done well. At least I've got the DVDs. But I will miss them.

On a more positive note, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was renewed today for a sixth season ... only thirteen episodes but I'll take it.

They were on the brink of being cancelled last year but they came back for a season five which overall turned out to be terrific. Good for them. MORE FITZSIMMONS! No, they're NOT done being cursed. And it will be interesting if this Friday they incorporate what happened at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

We are still waiting for the fate of Timeless. It HAS to be renewed for a third season. Last night ended on a cliffhanger.

Wyatt and Lucy from five years in the future show up. And Rufus was killed. Gah!

So the fans, including me, are on pins and needles waiting for word on next season. It, too, came back from the dead last year so it really really needs a boost.

Nothing on TV really for me tonight though a new season of Street Outlaws is starting. Two hours. So I'll watch that with Steve.

I didn't sleep well last night. Just one of those nights. So I'm hoping to get some good zonking tonight.

See you soon

Much love,
PK the Bookeemonster
