Happy dance!

Currently reading WHO BURIES THE DEAD by CS Harris. This is 10th of 10 in series featuring Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, an investigator in Regency England. Here's a description:
London, 1813. The vicious decapitation of Stanley Preston, a wealthy, socially ambitious plantation owner, at Bloody Bridge draws Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, into a macabre and increasingly perilous investigation. The discovery near the body of an aged lead coffin strap bearing the inscription King Charles, 1648 suggests a link between this killing and the beheading of the deposed seventeenth-century Stuart monarch. Equally troubling, the victim’s kinship to the current Home Secretary draws the notice of Sebastian’s powerful father-in-law, Lord Jarvis, who will exploit any means to pursue his own clandestine ends. Working in concert with his fiercely independent wife, Hero, Sebastian finds his inquiries taking him from the wretched back alleys of Fish Street Hill to the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair as he amasses a list of suspects who range from an eccentric Chelsea curiosity collector to the brother of an unassuming but brilliantly observant spinster named Jane Austen. But as one brutal murder follows another, it is the connection between the victims and ruthless former army officer Sinclair, Lord Oliphant, that dramatically raises the stakes. Once, Oliphant nearly destroyed Sebastian in a horrific wartime act of carnage and betrayal. Now the vindictive former colonel might well pose a threat not only to Sebastian but to everything—and everyone—Sebastian holds most dear.

Published 2015, it has 352 pages. This is the second best historical mystery series out there (first is the uncomparable CJ Sansom). I'm SO excited for this book. And, according to her blog, the author has already finished the next book and working on the one after that. Woot!

.....reading DR WHO: THE WRITER'S TALE - The Final Chapter by Russell T Davies & Benjamin Cook. This is nonfiction:
For this new edition of The Writer's Tale, Russell T Davies and Benjamin Cook expand their in-depth discussion of the creative life of Doctor Who to cover Russell's final year as Head Writer and Executive Producer of the show, as well as his work behind the increasingly successful Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures spin-offs. Candid and witty insights abound throughout two years' worth of correspondence, covering David Tennant's last episodes as the Doctor and the legacy that Russell and David leave behind as a new era of Doctor Who begins. You do get to understand what a head writer/show runner has to deal with day to day. You even get to read a few of Russell T. Davies' first drafts of the episodes for series 4 of Doctor Who. All Through Emails. You also get to hear his inner most thoughts of procrastination, stress, the absolute passion he has for his characters, (every one of them that he has created) and the passion he has for writing. He talks of writing as if his head never turns off, and he even admits he would be writing whether or not he had a job on a tv show. He brings you into his passion and his excitement when he decides to kill off a character, or when he discusses why it all is for the good of the story. The other half of the emails are by Benjamin Cook. He asks all the right questions at all the right times.

Published in 2013, it has 704 pages.  I've become such a fan of Dr. Who (specifically the 10th Doctor played by the amazing David Tennant) big time. This is amazing inside writer stuff and the creative process. Love it.

I stopped by Albertsons this morning on the way to work and as I was leaving a car stopped and a woman got out .... it was a friend of mine I haven't seen in forever but she recognized me as she was leaving too. We've stayed in touch via Facebook but haven't seen each other in about 10 years. That was FANTASTIC!

Tomorrow is expected to be a good too. This is to all balance out the horrible Thursday coming up.

Have a great day!

Much love,
