On ‘Daily Show,’ Obama calls American deaths in Libya ‘not optimal’

You heard correctly. While the Left has become apoplectic over Mitt Romney’s “binders” comment, their leader has evolved from viewing the deaths of four Americans as “bumps in the road” to something even more outrageous. The Washington Post has a preview of Obama’s comments to TV clown Jon Stewart, which are set to air tonight:
“Here’s what I’ll say. When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. We’re going to fix it. All of it,” Obama said. “The government is a big operation and any given time something screws up. And you make sure that you find out what’s broken and you fix it. Whatever else I have done throughout the course of my presidency the one thing that I’ve been absolutely clear about is that America’s security comes first, and the American people need to know exactly how I make decisions when it comes to war, peace, security, and protecting Americans. And they will continue to get that over the next four years of my presidency.”
When four Americans “get killed, it’s not optimal”? Outraged Americans were quick to launch the #NotOptimal hashtag to highlight a few other things that are broken in Obama’s “big operation.” Any other little screw-ups on the fix-it list?

Welfare Spending Hits $1.03 Trillion, Largest Government Expense in FY 2011

According to the Daily Caller, 83 means-tested federal welfare programs (‘Means-tested’ means that eligibility is determined based upon the finances of the individual in question) in the fiscal year of 2011 cost the government approximately $1.03 trillion, making welfare the government’s largest expenditure.

The DC does note that Social Security, Medicare, means-tested health care for veterans without service-connected disabilities, and the means-tested veterans pension program were NOT included in the data.

The report shows that the spending on federal programs increased 32 percent – from $563.413 billion in fiscal year 2008 to the $745.84 billion in 2011.

Even more troubling is that the CRS reports that food assistance program expenditures have increased 71 percent since 2008.

Well, consider that part of this is not Obama’s fault; he did come into a bad situation. The problem is that the numbers are moving in the wrong direction four years later. A two-year decline is understandable given the economic scenario we all faced, but a leveling off would be seen as a victory compared to the increase we see today. Couple that with executive order-eased restrictions on the work requirements for welfare, and you see a problem.

Good news, lady (parts)! Sexist Obama says you are qualified for women’s work, like teaching

That’s right. President Obama, while continuing to pitifully and bitterly cling to that whole Binder-gate nonsense, said this yesterday:
