Walked the dogs; lovely cool temp this morning.
Worked. Yeah. Whatever.
Yesterday I mowed the front and side lawn before a storm rolled through and for my efforts I got stung by a bee on my right hand. That trick with the penny on bee stings? It works. I haven't been stung since I was in grade school; I wasn't particularly interested in breaking that record. Bah.
I'm about to start THE LEPER'S BELL by Peter Tremayne. This is 14th of 23 in series (not counting a short story collection) featuring Sister Fidelma, a 7th century Celtic sister and legal advocate in Kildare, Ireland. Here is a description:
In November of 667 A.D., Fidelma of Cashel has returned home to her brother's castle to discover that a servant, her son's nurse, has been found brutally murdered in the woods near town, and her son is missing, presumed kidnapped or worse. Sister Fidelma, sister to king of Muman in Ireland, an advocate of the Brehon courts, and a religieuse of the Celtic Church, and her husband Brother Eadulf now must face their most personal and baffling case ever. Is there a traitor at her brother's court? Are the Ui Fidgente, the old blood enemies of Fidelma's family, involved? And what is the role of the mysterious dwarf seen leaving the kingdom carrying a leper's bell? With few clues and precious little time, Fidelma must unravel this complicated puzzle in time to rescue her missing child.
I've had a couple people at work mention today it looked like I've lost some weight. I tell them about cutting carbs and it's only been three weeks and I'm not expecting miracles but my pants are looser. :)
Tonight, not much on TV but I'll probably hang out with Steve and stare at the screen for a bit....
OHHH!! My replacement Kindle is coming today! A day early! Woot a woot!
Update: And the second fantastic news of the day is that someone is moving away. Wow. Thank you, Universe!
Much love,
