The Obama administration moved on Tuesday to rein in the use of tax-exempt groups for political campaigning.
The effort is an attempt to reduce the role of such loosely regulated
yet influential super PACS as Crossroads GPS, which was co-founded by
GOP political strategist Karl Rove, and Priorities USA, which ran
searing ads against rivals of President Barack Obama to support his
re-election last year.
The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department proposed new
rules that they said would prohibit such groups from using
"candidate-related political activity" like running advertisements,
registering voters or distributing campaign literature as activities
that qualify them to be tax-exempt "social welfare" organizations.

....But House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell
Issa (R-Calif.) said it’s simply an effort to crack down on conservative
groups in the wake of the IRS scandal.
“This new effort by the Obama administration to limit traditional
advocacy efforts by social welfare organizations will have a much more
profound impact on grassroots and community organizations than on the
well-heeled groups it supposedly targets,” Issa said. “The fact that the
administration’s new effort only applies to social welfare
organizations — and not powerful unions or business groups — underscores
that this is a crass political effort by the administration to get what
political advantage they can, when they can.”

Since the passage of Obamacare, all fifty state Medicaid agencies
have been forced to create a new standalone database that contains
nothing besides the contact information of Medicaid applicants who used
Healthcare.gov.
Some of these new databases mail out voter registration forms automatically. You cannot refuse them.
No worthwhile verification occurs before the forms are mailed. Apply for Medicaid and the form will be mailed to you, be you a verifiable citizen or Ayman al-Zawahiri on a computer in Pakistan.
Further, these new databases are accessible by groups like Organizing for Action, the reconstituted ACORN, and malevolent figures like Chris Tarango.
And no reasonable purpose exists for creating the databases
besides making them available to the aforementioned Democratic
activists.
Heard nothing regarding this before? Not only are you not alone,
several state secretaries of State we contacted had no clue any of this
was occurring under their watch.
One day after a new poll showed that only a minority of Americans
trust President Barack Obama, the president told an audience that his
policies are based on kindness.
“Kindness covers all of my political beliefs,” Obama told his
audience of wealthy investors, high-tech donors, journalists and fellow
Democrats Tuesday, only two months after he slashed at
GOP legislators, calling them arsonists, nuclear blackmailers, economic
wreckers, hostage-takers, obsessives and irresponsible extremists.
“When I think about what I’m fighting for, what gets me up every
single day, [kindness] captures it just about as much as anything,” he
told his audience at the DreamWorks studio in Glendale, Calif., which he
visited as part of a seven-stop fundraising trip.

....Unfortunately, the powers that be have continued to follow this false
theory at the expense of the overall financial health of the nation.
The U.S. Census Bureau and the Social Security Administration have
recently put out some startling statistics to consider:
- 39.6% of the population makes less than $20,000 a year;
- 65% of the population makes less than $40,000;
- Home ownership is at an 18-year low;
- Approximately one in five households is on food stamps; and
- Median household incomes have fallen for five years in a row.
You decide, is Keynesianism working for the bottom 90%? While the
stock market is hitting all time highs and the elected officials talk of
things getting better, billions in Keynesian juice is pumped into the
system, masking its failure by inflating financial assets at the expense
of the common man. Creating new bubbles does not enrich a nation; it
just endangers the public in the long run. Record prices for art,
diamonds, high-end real estate, and stocks are symptomatic of how
Keynesian “cheap money” flows into the hands of the wealthy, not the
poor and middle class.
Years from now, as the average American stagnates and the economy
limps along, it will be important to remember these Keynesian
“solutions” and how their damaging results did not cure the underlying
problems but instead prolonged them. The debts will be larger and the
standard of living will largely be lower, but mark my words, the “We
didn’t spend enough,” excuses will persist. Keynes is famous for his,
“In the long run we are all dead,” quote, but unfortunately what he
really should have said was, “In the long run this whole thing is going
to blow up in our faces and we’ll have no one to blame but ourselves”.

The latest allegations from the American Humanist Association...The humanists filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of two students accusing
Gwen Pope and the Fayette R-III School District of violating the
Constitution by allowing a Christian club to meet before the start of
the school day.
...Mrs. Pope, who is no longer teaching at the school, was the sponsor
of the Fellowship of Christian Students at Fayette High School. Since
2010, students have voluntarily gathered before the start of the school
day to pray and read the Bible in her classroom.
The American Humanist Association said the two unnamed complainants
had been subjected to “unwelcome encounters with the classroom prayer
sessions.”
It seems her classroom is near the entrance door of the school and
apparently non-believing students could see their classmates engaged in
religious activities.
They alleged that Mrs. Pope and the students were seen reading Bible verses and (again, brace yourself) praying for the ill.
...The AHA also took issue with a flier that promoted the club’s
participation in the “Buddy Pack” program at a local food pantry. The
packs are filled with food and given to elementary school students to
take home over the weekend.
As egregious as feeding the poor might have been, the humanists were
especially troubled by Mrs. Pope’s reading material. She was accused of
owning a Bible. Yes, a Bible....

What would you do next if you had successfully brokered a “Neville
Chamberlin” style deal with a rogue state that wants to annihilate
America and her Middle East allies? Well. . . You’d downgrade diplomatic
ties with the Vatican, of course. At least, that’s what you would do if
you were working in the Obama White House. The White House has recently
announced that they will shut down the US Embassy to the Holy See, and relocate it to a “safer” location on the grounds of the American Embassy in Italy.
Officially, the US is explaining the relocation effort as a security
measure in reaction to the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi.
. . Because, ya know, those crazy Vatican Catholics are a naturally
militant bunch. Heaven forbid someone makes an anti-Christian movie!
Whoa, the whole place could erupt into a deadly string of mass prayers
and forgiveness! (Ahem… Sarcasm.)
...Suggesting that Obama is intentionally downgrading US/ Vatican ties due
to some resentment toward Catholic policy would almost seem too petty to
contemplate; until it is put into a broader perspective. The Holy See
has proven, throughout the years, to be a monumental asset in world
affairs. Our relationship with the Vatican aids in humanitarian
missions, peace brokerage, and international trade with governments of
all religious affiliations.
The United Nations has adopted a resolution naming 2014 as the “Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.”
...According to U.N. Watch, a nonprofit that monitors activity at the U.N., the “Year of Solidarity” resolution was one of 21 resolutions that singled out Israel during this year’s General Assembly session. In 2012, the U.N. passed 22 resolutions condemning Israel.
This is compared with only four
resolutions this year that singled out any other country in the world,
which were Syria, Iran, North Korea and Myanmar.
“There were will be zero UNGA
resolutions on gross and systematic abuses committed by China, Cuba,
Egypt, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Zimbabwe, nor
on many other major perpetrators of grave violations of human rights,”
U.N. Watch reported.
... Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Ron Prosor said.
“The worst human rights abusers receive
a fraction of the condemnation that Israel – the only democracy in the
Middle East – receives,” Prosor said in a speech Monday. “These
irresponsible actions have irreversible consequences. The states that
rubberstamp the anti-Israel resolutions every year, have given the
Palestinians a false sense of reality and fed their culture of
victimhood.

....We
are now seeing the type of blatant messianic portrayals of Obama
offered through government schools that can only feed future strife.
Behold Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope:
Kyle Olsen of EAGNews (hate tip: Gateway Pundit) writes:
On the heels of a controversial children's book about
Barack Obama - which stated "white voters would never vote for a black
president" and that "Barack's former pastor" said "God would damn the
United States for mistreating its black citizens" - comes a new lesson
that casts America's 44th president in a messianic light. Literally.
And - surprise - it's Common Core-aligned.
The lesson plan and accompanying visual presentation were authored by Sherece Bennett, and is for sale onTeachersPayTeachers.com. It's all based on a book titled, "Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope," by Nikki Grimes. (snip)
In one passage, a young Obama sees beggars and wonders, "Will I ever be able to help people like these?"
"Hope hung deep inside of him," the book adds.
Another
excerpt from the book reads: "Before dawn each morning, Barry rose -
his mother's voice driving him from dream land. 'Time for learning
English grammar and the Golden Rule. Be honest, be kind, be fair,' she
taught him."
The
story continues: "One morning, he slipped on the name he'd been born
with. The name of his father, Barack. For the first time in his life, he
wore it proudly - like a coat of many colors."
Uh
oh - another Obama-inspired Biblical reference in a government school!
But there's no controversy here. Leftists will use God and the Bible, in
instances such as these, when it appropriately fits their propaganda
purposes.
