I'm currently reading THE CONFESSION by Charles Todd. This is 14th of 16 in series featuring Ian Rutledge, a shell-shocked World War I veteran returning to his job at Scotland Yard, in London. Here is a description:
In 1920, Rutledge applies his formidable detecting skills to the case of Wyatt Russell, a terminally ill man who confesses to murdering his cousin. Rutledge doesn’t believe Russell for a moment, and a lunch meeting with the dying man does nothing to change his mind. Armed with just a few leads, Rutledge journeys to an obscure corner of Essex, where the locals receive him with equal parts loathing and fear. The cold case becomes even more chilling when Russell is fatally shot. Rutledge continues to probe, as a singular question consumes his thoughts. Why would Russell confess to a crime he didn’t commit?
Published in 2012, it has 357 pages. This is a digital loan.
On Sunday we went to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was AWESOME! Tonight's episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has direct bearing from this movie so I'm looking forward to it even more so. In celebration, here's a photo of Agent Coulson:
(Any excuse, I take it.)
Ever wonder what my immediate TBR (to be read) pile looks like? Here ya go. This isn't Mount TBR, this is just the most pressing books. This isn't counting the ones on my Kindle, of course.
Much love,
