No new shows on tonight

Whatever will I do? Heh heh heh. I'll probably read or watch something on Netflix. Heck or be smart about it and go to bed early.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was good last night, in fact, it was better than I thought it would be. Stand outs are Fitz being all Indiana Jones/James Bond in trying to get info on how to save Jemma from the black monolith.

With some commentary from one of his cast members. And then he had a meltdown at the end of the episode because it's been six months since Jemma's been gone:

And we find out where Jemma is after she got swallowed by the black monolith in the season finale last spring:

And of course Bobbi and Hunter are always nice together with their chemistry:

So I enjoyed it very much and look forward to this season.

Today is receptionist Al's last day working. He's retiring. He will come back next week to be an extra body while I'm on vacation so we're very grateful for that. I picked up carrot cake cupcakes from Albertsons, a card, and we got him a gift.

Have a great Wednesday!

Much love,

If cats could talk

Why I watch NCIS: Los Angeles

Yeah, he was particularly pretty last night.

There were mostly pluses in this episode. Deeks was allowed to be Competant!Deeks instead of being goofy. We didn't get very much of Deek's mom but she was introduced. Densi as a couple were acknowledged and quite a publicly known fact.

Tonight is the season 3 premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. "Laws of Nature":
Director Phil Coulson and Agent Daisy Johnson leading the charge as S.H.I.E.L.D. searches the world for more powered people in the aftermath of their epic battle with Jiaying and her army of Inhumans. However, Coulson and the team soon find out that they are not the only group looking for these new Inhumans.

So, happy times indeed.

In exciting book news, FINALLY we have information on the third book in The Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin.

And I do mean finally. It's only been since 2012 when the last book came out.

Coming out in May of next year, it's apparently called THE CITY OF MIRRORS. No cover yet.

And today is International Coffee Day.

I don't know why there's a DAY set aside to acknowledge coffee. A heckuva lot of people worship daily.

Much love,

Don't bother ... it's here

Soooo, the Once Upon a Time season 5 premiere was last night. Hmmm. I enjoyed it but the focus is even more tilted toward Emma/Hook. I'm such a fan of Snow/Charming and they're delegated to the side lines as parents. Bah. There was this fabulous scene where Arthur and his knights have come to claim Excalibur. The first guy is Sir Kay:

Heh heh heh. And Regina of course got all the good, snarky lines.

Tonight is episode two of NCIS: Los Angeles. "Citadel".

DEA agent Talia Del Campo seeks help from NCIS after her partner is murdered. Meanwhile, Kensi grows suspicious that Deeks is hiding something, but he surprises her by introducing her to his mother.
Posting the sneak peaks again:

And in Deeks' fandom, there's this making the rounds:

Because we didn't know Deeks' mom existed because in season two he didn't have a next of kin when he was shot. So we're looking for a good explanation but we will be willing to wear our "tolerant panties" for a so-so explanation.

And tomorrow is the season premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yes, I'm excited.

Ok, yes, I'm a geek.

Other news. Yesterday was our anniversary. 18 years. Steve forgot but we have been busy. Today he got me a bouquet of very pretty flowers and a cool vase that lets you put a candle in it for cool illumination.

And I got my prescription sunglasses back with new lenses. And clothes are arriving that I've ordered. Very happy.

I did not see the infamous Blood Moon eclipse but, boy, did it get great PR. EVERYONE knew about it and looking. It was too cloudy here when I went outside.

So, have a good rest of the day, all.

Much love,

Once upon a time ....

Squee!  Two days until Once Upon a Time season 5 premiere!

This is from season one, the very opening, which I think is brilliant. It starts with "Once upon a time"...:

And this is fan artwork --- if you can believe it, look how awesome it is -- sort of recapping season one:

People are so talented, it's unbelievable.

Here's what's on my computer wallpaper at work right now:

Can you tell that Snow White and Prince Charming (aka Snowing) are my favorites? No kidding.

So yeah, life is good. Sunday football -- fingers crossed for Dallas with Romo out. Sunday night Once Upon a Time, Monday night NCIS: Los Angeles - Deek's mom is introduced, and Tuesday night season three premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

And I've got lots to read. More on that next week.

Have a marvelous weekend -- even though it's going to be in the 90s here. Where's Fall? I was promised Fall... where is it?!?

Much love,

Milk coma

Thursday. Closer to the weekend. Hot out.

Not much going on ....

Let's see... upcoming season premieres ... Once upon a Time on Sunday. If you're just starting the show or would just like a little fun, here's a family tree for the kid Henry:

So, we've got Emma (biological mom, daughter of Snow White/Prince Charming, aka the savior/dark one), Regina (adoptive mom, also his step great-grandma through Snow, aka Evil Queen), and Neal (biological father, aka Balefire):

Prince Charming/David (biological grandfather on mother's side ), Snow White/Mary Margaret (biological grandmother on mother's side), and Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold (biological grandfather on father's side, aka the Dark One)

Mila (deceased, biological grandmother on father's side), Belle/Beauty (step grandmother because married to Rumpel), Ruth (deceased, biological great-grandmother via Charming)

This gets into "sticky wicket" territory so hang on: Cora (adoptive grandmother via his adoption by Regina and also his step great-grandmother via Snow), Henry (adoptive grandfather via Regina) and King George (adoptive great-grandfather via Charming -- George adopted Charming).

King Leopold (deceased, biological great-grandfather via Snow but also his adoptive father via Regina), Queen Eva (deceased, biological great-grandmother via Snow), Peter Pan (biological great-grandfather via Rumple).

Ok, getting even more complicated here. Prince Neal (biological uncle via Emma), Zelena/Wicked Witch (adoptive aunt via Regina), and Prince James (deceased, biological great-uncle via Charming - Charming's twin).

These are tangential relationships but helpful: Hook (potential stepfather via Emma), Robin Hood (potential stepfather via Regina), Robin's son (potential stepbrother via Regina).

And we're not even counting the seven dwarves who I'm sure are honorary uncles. Got it? Henry, the kid, has GOT to be confused and should just assume he's related in some way to everybody he encounters. As they've joked on the show, Thanksgiving has got to be a bitch.

I can't wait until Sunday when it starts up again! We're adding Camelot to the mix this first half of the season.

(BTW, he officiated the marriage of Snow and Charming).

Off you go.

Much love,

Fall!

Hey! Look at the date!

My favorite time of year. Absolutely.

Had a bit of .... self indulging worry-ment a couple days ago. Our service manager turned in notice on Monday, giving two weeks. First thoughts for the first couple hours was: Yay! We've been wanting that for a long time: a) he is actually combative with customers and b) this is the last of the staff that sees Steve as the owner's son and not the owner and c) I will be glad to not hear him swearing all day long from him. But then I realized his last day was October 2nd. My vacation -- long planned and on the calender since February -- starting October 7th would probably have to be cancelled because if I went Steve would be alone in the office with a brand spanking new receptionist and our sales guy of one year. I confirmed the date with our now out-going service manager -- who himself took three vacation times this year --  and mentioned my possible cancellation ... and he just shrugged, as if to say "it sucks to be you." Thanks.

But Steve said go. I was truthfully gobsmacked.  So I asked our retiring receptionist -- whose last day is the 30th -- if he could possibly come in those three days to help out. He said yes. Wow. At least it's an extra body to help with phones and incoming traffic and so forth. So my trip to Bouchercon in Raleigh is still on.

And I won't be out money from my reservations of hotel and airline for cancelling.

So, anyhoo.....

I made good progress in the JD Robb book. Maybe I'll finish it tonight. Nothing on TV for me I think.

Oh, did I mention I watched the Cinderella movie this weekend? It was all right but her dress is to die for:

I remembered I grew up with the (vinyl) record of the animated Cinderalla movie. I grew up singing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo and Cinderelly and A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.

It came out in 1950?!? Holy cow. Well, I listened/watched it in the 70s.

Have a great first day of Fall

Much love,
