There was a conspiracy. They let us go today at work at 3 (using 1.5 hours of PTO). Driving home, there was a wreck in front of Senior High so I diverted south to Broadwater -- which took forever because a grade school was getting out plus other traffic who dodged Grand like I did. Finally got onto Broadwater -- there was another wreck slowing down traffic. Arrrrgghhhhh!
I had to stop by Albertsons on the way home to pick up some Zyrtec. I don't know what was out there on a cold rainy day but my allergies were kicking my butt so I had to take my last pill. I'll need some for tomorrow and my smoke allergy. I've said it before and I'll say it again: until about 3 years ago I NEVER had any any allergies like this. All the medications I'm allergic to, yes, but seasonal allergies? No. Weird.
I'm currently reading FIFTY SHADES OF GREY by E. L James that was lent to me by the ladies at work. Here is a description:
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms. Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.
This is erotica rather than romance and is being touted as the adult version of the TWILIGHT series and it reads like it. No depth. But I'm reading at least this one to see what all the hype is about. I did the same with the TWILIGHT first book. You can definitely tell this is female fantasy: the girl was throwing up on the street after getting very drunk when she completely her senior year finals and the guy, Mr Grey, held her hair for her as she was violently ill.
I'll do my best to post this weekend. Family from both sides are here so will be away, my poor baby boys will be alone a lot. And I'll be missing out on perfect reading weather but oh well. :)
Much love,
PK the Bookeemonster
