Monday 070708

Monday:

Well, I survived the in-laws coming over for dinner. They came a little early while I was out getting last minute groceries and Steve was next door fixing a garage door. They came in and made themselves comfortable which was a little unsettling but probably the best option. They were over for about 2.5-3 hours: good food, chatting, and gone by 6:30. And the house is still clean for a bit. That's the best part.

TV: tonight is a new episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8. And I think a new show on A&E has intrigued me -- Paranormal Kids. I saw an episode and a half yesterday afternoon and it looks interesting if I can remember when its on. I don't really like to watch a lot of tv or get caught up in too many shows because I prefer to read but I'm willing to try things out.

Reading: still reading THE BLACK HAND by Will Thomas. I was able to do some reading of it last night before bed. This one is so far involving the Sicilian mafia infilitrating England. I also have the new Mystery News to read. And I have my WSJ that should be in the mail today (Saturdays didn't show up).

Work: I worked on thank you letters for unrestricted donations. They haven't been done since Candace left in March. I believe there are 93 of these. Tomorrow I work on the other categories such as memorials and SIP wine cards thank yous. I sent in payment for Foundation Center online, a tool that will help with grants. Perhaps I can do a tax deduction for it. Well, no splurging on learning a foreign language this month. Tempted to next month, though.

I invited Erik over for dinner and a movie on Wednesday. While having dinner at M&D's on the 4th, he asked how we'd liked Casino Royale and said he hadn't seen it yet. With Steve shooting that night, I figured it's a good time to have my brother over. I'm also thinking that if my golf lesson takes next week, maybe he could be my golf buddy (and maybe he could meet some nice people; expand his horizons a bit). We'll see. Tomorrow Steve has a YRC meeting. Thursday I have dinner at Judy's.

Tonight: walking Tug, dealing with dinner (left over stuff from last night and chicken), a little tv and reading, sleep. Simple, eh?

Much love,
PK the Bookeemonster
